Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Electronics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The selected candidate will be working with the latest technology to modernize software production across multiple programs.

Essential Functions:
  • Implement tools and processes into an established software factory for use by avionics teams
  • Integrate and automate systems to facilitate continuous build, continuous integration, continuous test, and continuous deployment pipelines
  • Strong communication skills is a must to work with various stakeholders including chief engineers and development teams
  • Develop engineering for automated deployments to cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Executing engineering projects on schedule.
  • Responsible for integrating and testing software and/or hardware systems in complex IT systems.
  • Work closely with Engineers and Technicians in a lab environment.
  • Good planning, coordination, and documentation skills are required.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 1 years of related experience, or 0 years of experience with a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline
  • Ability to obtain an active DOD security clearance
  • Experience integrating or testing avionics hardware-software systems in a lab or data-center environment, including setup, validation, and troubleshooting of complex infrastructures
  • Hands-on work with lab infrastructure and data-center services (servers, networking, virtualization, storage) to support avionics test equipment and continuous-integration pipelines
  • Experience applying Infrastructure-as-Code (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform) and container/orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) to automate deployment of avionics software to on-premise and cloud environments
  • Familiar with build and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Bamboo, Maven/Ant) and the full Atlassian suite (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket) to manage source control, change tracking, and automated testing


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Vehicle-level engineering experience, including system-level integration, payload-to-airframe interfacing, and performance validation of airborne platforms
  • Familiarity with government reference architectures and DoD product development life-cycle processes (MIL-STD compliance, security clearance requirements, formal build procedures)
  • Experience using the Agile methodology and common DevSecOps practices
  • Experience using Azure, Amazon Web Services, including using AWS native services (Cloud Formation, S3, etc.) is a plus
  • Experience with software development (Java/Javascript, C++, C# or any modern object-oriented language) and its life cycle
  • Experience with Linux/Unix/Windows administration and exposure to virtualization platforms (VMware, Azure, AWS) for lab and simulation environments


Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
