General PurposePlay a critical role in supporting the reliable operation of the electrical grid through advanced communications technology!
Responsibilities- Maintaining PacifiCorp Communication systems including but not limited to voice and data communication systems, telephone systems, PBX's,DCS, analog and digital microwave radio systems, land mobile radio systems, SCADA systems, power line carrier equipment, chart recorders, telemetry, tone relaying, fiber optics/lightwave, and associated switching and termination equipment.
- Responsible for installing, testing and certifying any or all of the above listed equipment. Off-road travel in extreme weather conditions may be required.
- Usually work on independent work assignments, but may be assigned to work with other company personnel as needed.
- May be assigned to direct the work of an Electronic Technician Assistant.
- Responsible for vehicles, tools and materials supplied by the Company for use in this position.
Requirements- Must provide proof of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Must pass journeyman level written and practical tests.
- Two years experience as an Electronic Technician in a power utility environment.
- FCC GROL License with elements 1 and 3.
