Full Job Description
We9re looking for an Electromechanical Sustaining Engineer to join our Hardware Sustaining team and serve as its electrical and embedded systems expert. Our connected machines are inherently electromechanical, and the field and production issues we tackle increasingly span the electrical, firmware, and mechanical domains at once. In this role, you9ll lead first-pass electrical and firmware investigations, drive root cause and corrective action on electromechanical failures, and act as the technical bridge between our mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software teams.

You9ll take sustaining projects from initial analysis through change release - diagnosing problems, scoping the engineering work cleanly, and partnering with the EE and firmware development teams to implement and verify fixes. Success in this role directly improves product quality, reliability, and the customer experience across Bevi9s installed base.
Your Day to Day

Electromechanical Investigation & Root Cause
  • Lead first-pass electrical, embedded, and firmware investigations of field and production issues across Bevi9s connected hardware.
  • Perform board- and system-level debug-instrumenting, measuring, and reproducing electromechanical failures such as inter-board communication faults, sensor and actuator behavior, and power or signal integrity issues.
  • Drive robust root cause analysis and corrective action on electromechanical issues, taking projects from initial analysis through containment and change release.
  • Translate field symptoms into clearly scoped engineering work packages that the EE and firmware development teams can act on directly.

Cross-Functional Integration
  • Serve as the sustaining team9s technical bridge across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software disciplines.
  • Partner with the EE and firmware teams to hand off well-defined problems and support implementation and verification of solutions.
  • Represent the sustaining team in cross-functional design reviews, DFMEA, and PFMEA activities, contributing a credible technical voice in electrical and embedded systems discussions
  • Communicate and coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and outside vendors and suppliers as needed

Change Implementation & Documentation
  • Create and release ECNs and update BOMs, drawings, and supporting documentation for electromechanical changes
  • Develop and execute test methods to validate fixes and verify compliance
  • Apply statistical methods and perform product/process analysis to drive quality improvements, cost reduction, and improved reliability
  • Support component end-of-life and obsolescence engineering activities for electrical components, and provide feedback to the New Product Development team to improve next-gen designs
Requirements

Required
  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 3-6 years of experience in product development, hardware sustaining, or systems integration of electromechanical systems
  • Hands-on electrical and embedded debugging: board-level troubleshooting with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters, and familiarity with common communication protocols (e.g., IB2C, SPI, UART, CAN)
  • Demonstrated experience with root cause analysis and corrective action on electromechanical systems
  • Comfort working across the electrical - mechanical boundary, including the ability to read board schematics as well as mechanical drawings and CAD and collaborate effectively with mechanical and electrical engineers
  • Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills, including the ability to scope and frame technical work clearly for hand-off across teams

Preferred
  • Experience with Arena PLM
  • Experience with IoT or connected hardware products
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering tools such as MTBF and MTTF
  • Proficiency with SOLIDWORKS or a similar 3D CAD program
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

About Bevi

Matthew Griswold Bevin is an American businessman and politician who served as the 62nd Governor of Kentucky, from 2015 to 2019. He was the third Republican elected Kentucky governor since World War II, after Ernie Fletcher and Louie Nunn. Born in Denver, Colorado, and raised in Shelburne, New Hampshire, Bevin earned a bachelor's degree at Washington and Lee University in 1989, then served four years of active duty in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of captain. He became wealthy in the investment business and moved to Louisville, Kentucky, in 1999. He was president of Bevin Brothers Manufacturing Company, one of the last remaining American bell foundries. In 2013, Bevin announced he would challenge Kentucky's senior U.S. Senator, then-Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, in the 2014 Republican primary. Although Bevin gained the support of various groups aligned with the Tea Party Movement, McConnell attacked him repeatedly for inconsistencies in his public statements and policy positions and defeated him by almost 25 percentage points. After announcing he would seek the governorship in 2015, Bevin emerged from a four-way Republican primary, besting his nearest competitor by 83 votes. He then defeated the state's attorney general, Democratic nominee Jack Conway, in the general election. Bevin's gubernatorial tenure was notable for the passage of "right-to-work" legislation, laws limiting abortion access, and a law allowing carrying concealed handguns without permits. He also attempted to reverse Kentucky's Medicaid expansion and to reduce teacher pensions.
