Full Job Description
We are seeking an Electrolyzer Stack Engineer to join our Stack Engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of Electric Hydrogen's current and next-generation electrolyzer stacks, supporting product design, validation, manufacturing, and technology advancement activities. You will collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to improve stack performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost. You will be based in Devens, MA and report to our Director of Director, Electrolyzer Stack. Primary Responsibilities • Support documentation, maintenance, and verification of electrolyzer stack and stack subcomponent requirements, including primary and interface requirements • Support development and maintenance of Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEA) for stacks and stack components • Perform engineering analyses to verify stack and subcomponent designs meet performance and reliability requirements • Participate in cross-functional design reviews for stacks and stack subcomponents • Generate and maintain 3D models and engineering drawings for stacks and stack subcomponents • Develop and maintain part, material, and component specifications • Support the development, release, and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs) • Support development and maintenance of Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R) and coordinate verification activities across functions • Participate in engineering change management activities for stacks and stack subcomponents • Support development of first article inspection (FAI) and incoming quality control (IQC) plans • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to support procurement, qualification, and production activities • Support certification activities related to applicable industry codes and standards • Contribute to technology development efforts focused on improving stack performance, durability, manufacturability, and cost • Support planning and tracking of project scope, schedules, and budgets for stack development activities Qualifications • BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline • 0-6 years of engineering experience in product development, design, testing, or manufacturing environments • Experience creating 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD tools • Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance analysis principles • Experience supporting design, build, and test development cycles • Familiarity with requirements management, documentation, and verification processes • Knowledge of Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) methodologies • Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and/or Structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA) • Knowledge of seal and gasket design principles • Fundamental understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, mechanics of materials, and mass transport • Experience with electrochemical technologies such as electrolyzers, fuel cells, batteries, or related energy systems is preferred • Strong problem-solving skills with a willingness to challenge assumptions and seek innovative solutions • Self-motivated, hands-on, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive solutions forward #LI-Onsite Compensation and Benefits | P1-P4 MA Zone $75,690-$130,935 USD Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.
