Job Description

PURPOSE:

As a Process Engineer you will be part of a dynamic technical team driving manufacturing efficiency and productivity in a plant environment. You will apply Engineering principles to technical projects while researching and finding innovative and cost-effective means to improve safety, quality, and delivery.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Provides engineering leadership in efforts to maintain process control and improve quality
  • Analyzes manufacturing processes to identify and execute improvements utilizing lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies
  • Monitor and control equipment to improve production
  • Supports production to ensure attainment of business goals, working directly with manufacturing personnel to ensure consistent process operations
  • Investigate and resolve casting defects (e.g., porosity, inclusions, runouts, shrinkage)
  • Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods
  • Manages specification, selection and execution of major capital and tooling acquisitions in order to drive technology improvements that positively impact Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Inventory.
  • Ensures all work is in compliance with environmental, health and safety standards, industry specifications, customer requirements, company standards and related specifications


SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Exposure to Lean and Six Sigma Tools, at minimum a willingness to learn and apply the tools.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective communication skills communication: Listening, Verbal and Written.
  • Understanding of material engineering
  • Self-motivated, data-driven problem solver with a proven track record of process improvement.
  • Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment, including lifting materials up to 50 lbs.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
  • Reports directly to the Process Engineering Manager.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Materials Science preferred.
  • Knowledge of investment casting technology, processes and manufacturing methods are preferable.
  • 3-5 years related experience preferred
  • Strong statistical process control knowledge

Relocation is authorized for this position.
