Job DescriptionRESPONSIBILITIES:- Must know all relevant SSOP and MWI for the department and equipment they are operating.
- Diagnoses equipment malfunctions using appropriate test instruments and circuit diagrams.
- Maintains and repairs electrical/electronic/electromechanical systems.
- Fabricates and/or installs electrical/electronic/electromechanical systems.
- Follows all safety precautions and procedures. Ensures that all equipment is safe before releasing to production.
- Able to do simple fabrication of mechanical components using maintenance equipment for bracketry or installation modification of electrical devices.
- Performs all electrical preventative maintenance related to inspections, record results and reports results as per procedure.
- Reports all electrical issues to the Electrical Leadhand and Maintenance Supervisor immediately.
- Ensures all shop equipment is locked up at the end of the shift and all hand tools and materials have been returned to designated safe storage areas.
- Must be flexible and willing to work shift work.
- Must keep work area neat and tidy at all times.
- Perform other duties as required.
AUTHORITIES:- Authorized to troubleshoot and fix machinery as required to ensure effective flow of production.
- Report electrical issues to lead hand and supervisor immediately.
- Any issues related to quality, operations and safety are to be reported to the department Leadhand and/or Supervisor.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:- Licensed Electrician
- Knowledge of PLC programming
- Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
- 5 years related experience in electrical/electronic maintenance
- Must be able to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English.
- Must be computer literate.
- Able to do shift rotation.
- Completion of a criminal background check as required by CTPAT requirements.
HEALTH & SAFETY:- Demonstrates a positive attitude towards safety and models safety for other employees at all times.
- Understand that it is mandatory to use and/or wear all personal protective equipment provided by the Company.
- Reports all accidents, incidents and near misses and supports in determining corrective actions to eliminate workplace hazards.
- Practices safe work habits as detailed in Samuels/ATC's safety policies, procedures, C.S.A and the Occupational Health & Safety Act of Ontario.
- Understands and completes necessary health & safety training through Samuel's Safety Training program and ensures renewal training is completed as per company requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:- 309A or 442A ticket.
- Certificate of Apprentice.
- Good communication skills - written and verbal.
- Okay to wear a respirator when working with chemicals.
- Okay to work at heights.

The expected compensation range for this position is $42/hr - $45/hr. This range includes base pay and target variable pay. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We also consider internal equity to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. This range reflects the expected full compensation range for the role; most offers will fall within the range and not at the maximum in order to allow for future growth.
