ElectricianPosition Summary- Work Schedule: Shifts: 12 hours rotating continental shifts (Days and Nights)
- This position is 100% on-site at the Windsor site.
This position is located in Windsor, Ontario, one of two sites located in Canada offering softgel development and manufacturing capabilities for the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health industries. We have a broad range of integrated formulation, manufacturing, analytical and packaging services to offer full-service turnkey solutions.
Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, the Electrician is responsible for maintaining all electrical systems in accordance to Ontario Hydro standards, Electrical Code, CSA standards and Safety regulations.
The Role:- Layout, assemble, install, repair, maintain, connect, and test fixtures, HVAC system, apparatus, control equipment and wiring for electrical and electronic systems and devices.
- Troubleshoot and repair break downs for electrical controls, motor controls, heating and cooling controls, plant lighting.
- Perform bench repairs for electrical devices such as heaters, probes, motors, etc.
- Perform equipment set-ups and electrical installations such as plant wiring, control panels, etc. from blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
- Assist Mechanic to repair pumps, fans, mixers etc. As well as assembly or disassembly of equipment when required.
- May be asked to work extended hours (overtime), especially when problems occur or when deadlines must be met.
- PLC knowledge and understanding of controls from various providers
- Perform other duties as required.
The Candidate:- High School Diploma, GED/CAEC and/or educational credential assessment (ECA) is required.
- Licensed Industrial Electrician certification required. (309A, 442A)
- 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical and/or GMP facility is preferred.
- Strong mathematical skills to compute simple calculations (adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, percent and averages), Strong technical/electrical background.
- Able to read and interpret technical manuals/schematics/blueprints.
- Possess a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of automation systems an asset.
- The employee's role frequently involves sitting and utilizing hands and fingers for tasks such as handling, feeling, and keyboard manipulation, necessitating manual dexterity.
- Occasionally, the position requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, alongside close vision capabilities and potential exposure to chemicals.
- Currently Catalent participates in the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) on a limited basis.
- Candidates with non-Canadian credentials must provide an evaluation confirming the Canadian equivalency of the credentials as determined by the Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada (ACESC) such as WES.
