Qualifications

  • Current Ontario Industrial Electrician 442A License required.

  • Thorough knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code needed.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair transformers, motors, VFDs, and electrical instrumentation.
  • Replace or repair electric and electronic components including motors and sensors.
  • Install, examine, and repair wiring and electrical components.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs and VFDs on machinery.
  • Document repairs and programming changes thoroughly.
  • Work safely in accordance with health and safety regulations.

  • Night shift position - 10:30pm to 7am.

'Your role in achieving results:'
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, VFDs, electrical instrumentation and sensors, lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Repairs and replaces electric and electronic components such as motors, contactors, relays, switches or sensors, PLC's, light curtains, motor controls, VFDs, etc.
  • Installs, examines, replace or repair electric wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
  • Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on production and production supporting equipment as outlined in the individual work instructions.
  • Troubleshoot programmable logic controllers and VFD's on packaging and processing machinery.
  • Test for malfunctions, verify repairs and document of all programming changes.
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations including the use of personal protective equipment
  • Be willing to upgrade skills to deal with new technology, including the use of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Work with operators and other trades as required to achieve satisfactory results
  • Support the development of autonomous, preventive, and predictive maintenance programs


'What we are looking for to deliver these results:'
  • Candidate must have a current Province of Ontario Industrial Electrician 442A License.
  • The successful candidate must have a minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food, beverage, dairy, or pharmaceutical industry would be an asset.
  • Experience in troubleshooting with Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLC and FactoryTalk View HMI and SCADA system
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code
  • Experience with industrial electrical power systems, industrial control systems, PLC's, motors, VFD's, and industrial communication systems.
  • Able to create simple drawings, ladder diagrams and single circuit diagrams.
