Position Overview

Be part of building a best-in-class electrical training program from the ground up-supporting the systems, tools, and coordination that make it successful.

Kiewit is seeking an Electrical Training Engineer to support the startup and operation of a new Electrical Training Facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area. This role is designed to work directly alongside the Electrical Training & Development Coordinator, forming a highly integrated team responsible for delivering effective, field-aligned training programs.

The Training Engineer will focus on planning, technical coordination, digital tools, and program tracking, enabling the Coordinator to lead hands-on training execution. This role operates under the technical leadership of a Master Electrician, ensuring all training aligns with field standards, constructability, and project needs.

This is an ideal opportunity for a field-oriented, tech-savvy engineer who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and contributing to workforce development.

Team Structure & Role Alignment
  • Reports to: Master Electrician (technical direction and standards)
  • Works side-by-side with: Electrical Training & Development Coordinator (training execution lead)
  • Primary focus: Planning, tools, tracking, coordination, and technical support


District Overview

The Kiewit Industrial District delivers self-perform and EPC construction services for complex industrial facilities across North America, including data centers, advanced manufacturing, energy, and process-driven infrastructure projects.

Location

This position will be based at a new Electrical Training Facility currently being developed in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area.

The selected candidate must be located in DFW or willing to relocate prior to facility startup and program launch.

Occasional regional travel may be required to support project and workforce needs.
Responsibilities

Program Coordination & Planning
  • Coordinate training schedules, facility utilization, and daily work plans in partnership with the Coordinator
  • Support planning and setup of training modules, mockups, and prefab builds
  • Track materials, tools, and equipment required for training activities
  • Assist in aligning training activities with active project work packages and workforce demand

Technical & Digital Support
  • Utilize tools such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and scheduling software to support layout reviews, markups, and planning
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and electrical details to support training clarity and constructability
  • Develop field-friendly visuals, markups, and documentation to enhance learning outcomes
  • Support integration of digital tools into training delivery and program management

Training Program Support
  • Work directly with the Coordinator during training execution to support hands-on activities and instruction
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining prefab/shop training environments
  • Help reinforce electrical standards, installation methods, and best practices
  • Support onboarding and orientation activities for new craft professionals

Program Tracking & Performance
  • Track key training metrics including:
    o Attendance and completion rates
    o Certification progress (OSHA-10, etc.)
    o Skill progression and readiness indicators
  • Support OJT tracking systems, supervisor validation, and audit readiness
  • Maintain organized records and reporting for training performance and workforce readiness

Field & Prefab Integration
  • Assist in developing and executing standardized builds aligned to real field installations
  • Ensure training reflects proper sequencing, materials, and installation practices
  • Provide feedback on constructability and training effectiveness

Safety & Quality Support
  • Reinforce safety standards including OSHA requirements, JHA participation, and safe work practices
  • Support quality processes including inspections, tolerances, and first-pass success
  • Ensure training activities are conducted in a safe and controlled environment

Bilingual Communication Support
  • Provide bilingual (English/Spanish) communication support to ensure clear understanding across craft workforce
  • Assist in bridging communication between field leadership, trainers, and craft

Technical & Digital Skill Requirements
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam for drawing review, markups, and takeoffs
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD platforms
  • Experience with scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar)
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new systems and tools

  • Experience supporting training programs, apprenticeships, or workforce development initiatives
  • Experience on industrial, manufacturing, or EPC projects
  • Familiarity with Kiewit systems or similar large construction organizations
