Position Title: Electrical Estimator
This is an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Estimator to join a growing and highly respected electrical contractor with a strong reputation throughout Connecticut. The Electrical Estimator will play a key role in securing and shaping commercial and industrial projects by developing accurate, competitive bids for a diverse portfolio of work ranging from schools and healthcare facilities to industrial and specialty electrical projects. Working closely with leadership and project teams, this position offers the chance to make a direct impact on the company's continued growth while building expertise across a wide variety of project types. Salary Range: $125,000 - $175,000 / Year DOEElectrical Estimator Responsibilities: - Review plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents
- Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment
- Obtain and analyze vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Prepare detailed estimates, budgets, and bid proposals
- Evaluate project risks, schedules, and labor requirements
- Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
- Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information
- Coordinate bid submissions and ensure deadlines are met
- Assist with project handoff to operations and project management teams
- Support change order pricing and additional work estimates
Electrical Estimator Requirements: - Minimum of 2 years of electrical estimating experience with an electrical contracting company
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and construction methods
- Experience preparing estimates for commercial electrical projects
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office
- High school diploma
- 5+ years of electrical estimating experience is preferred
- Prior experience as an Electrician, Electrical Foreman, or Electrical Contractor/Business Owner is preferred
- Experience estimating commercial, industrial, municipal, educational, or healthcare projects is preferred
