Electrical Engineering Specialist - Facilities (P.Eng., EGBC)
Location: Burnaby, BC

We are seeking a Permanent Full Time Employee - Electrical Engineering Specialist (Facilities) to bring expertise, leadership, and innovation to our facilities-related infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity to contribute your skills at a senior level, with the flexibility of independent consulting, while engaging in work that makes a meaningful impact. Position pays $120-150k/yr.

What You'll Do
As an Electrical Engineering Specialist, you'll take the lead on designing, analyzing, and implementing electrical systems in complex facilities projects. Your work will span concept to completion, ensuring technical excellence, safety, and compliance every step of the way.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design & Analysis
    • Lead the development of electrical system designs for facilities, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and emergency systems.
    • Perform load calculations, modeling, and equipment selection aligned with project needs and standards.
    • Ensure designs meet codes, safety regulations, and client requirements.
  • Project Coordination & Delivery
    • Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and project managers to integrate electrical systems into multidisciplinary projects.
    • Prepare specifications, technical reports, and tender documents.
    • Provide construction-phase support, site reviews, and quality assurance oversight.
  • Technical Leadership
    • Stay current on emerging technologies, codes, and standards.
    • Mentor junior designers and provide technical direction within the team.
    • Develop risk assessments and propose effective mitigation strategies.
  • Client Engagement
    • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
