Intermediate Instrumentation DesignerWe are looking for an Intermediate Instrumentation Designer to join our Sarnia team. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys hands-on design work, collaborating with several engineering disciplines and supporting projects from design through execution.
What You'll Do- Prepare instrumentation and control drawings, layouts, schematics and wiring documentation.
- Develop and update instrument indexes, I/O lists, cable schedules, datasheets and related design documents.
- Review P&IDs, equipment information, specifications and client requirements.
- Coordinate instrumentation design work with process, electrical, mechanical, piping, civil and structural teams.
- Work with engineers and other designers to identify and resolve design issues.
- Participate in design reviews and project coordination meetings.
- Complete assigned work within project schedule, budget and quality requirements.
- Review deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide field, construction, vendor and commissioning support when required.
What You Bring- A diploma, certificate or degree in Instrumentation, Controls, Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field. Equivalent experience may also be considered.
- Four to nine years of relevant instrumentation design experience.
- Experience preparing instrumentation and control deliverables for industrial or multidisciplinary engineering projects.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of instrumentation systems, control systems and electrical interfaces.
- Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards.
- Experience using relevant instrumentation design and engineering software.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- The ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a project team.
