Full Job Description
We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Leader to join our Vancouver office. This is a strategic leadership position for a technically strong and client-focused professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional electrical engineering solutions while helping grow Arup's presence across British Columbia and Western Canada.

You will play a key role in leading multidisciplinary projects, developing client relationships, mentoring teams, and expanding our work in the healthcare, science and technology, higher education, commercial, cultural, and infrastructure sectors.

The opportunity
• Lead complex multidisciplinary projects as Project Manager, Electrical Discipline Lead, and/or Engineer of Record.
• Provide technical leadership for electrical systems design, including power distribution, emergency power, renewable energy integration, lighting, controls, and smart building technologies.
• Ensure design excellence, quality assurance, code compliance, and alignment with client objectives.
• Lead project delivery teams across all project phases, from planning and concept design through construction support.
• Support the growth of Arup's Buildings business in Vancouver and across Western Canada through client engagement, business development, and market leadership.
• Develop and maintain trusted relationships with clients, architects, developers, contractors, institutions, and public-sector organizations.
• Support winning work through strategic pursuits, proposals, interviews, presentations, and contract negotiations.
• Mentor and develop electrical engineers and multidisciplinary staff, fostering technical excellence and professional growth.
• Collaborate with Arup specialists across North America and globally to bring innovative solutions to our clients.
• Represent Arup within industry organizations, professional associations, and community initiatives.

Is this role right for you?
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in British Columbia or eligibility to obtain registration within six months.
• Minimum 15 years of experience designing and leading electrical systems for complex building projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in some or all of the following sectors:

o Healthcare

o Science and laboratory facilities

o Higher education

o Commercial and mixed-use developments

o Cultural and civic projects
• Strong understanding of Canadian electrical codes, energy regulations, and industry best practices.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing complex project delivery.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships and generate repeat business.
• Demonstrated success in business development, proposal preparation, project pursuits, and strategic market growth.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including project budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage clients, stakeholders, and project teams.

Vancouver Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Vancouver is $185,000 to $220,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Vancouver will differ.
