The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Electrical Engineer-NH-0850-03 to work at Cheyenne Mountain SFS, Colorado.
The main purpose of this job is to serve as a professional electrical engineer, performing design, project programming and construction management/monitoring duties in support of a military installation. The incumbent provide continuous, world-class infrastructure and base support in order to enable global Space Force mission Deltas and other space and homeland defense mission partners to conduct combat operations.
The ideal candidate is an electrical engineer with 3-5 years of experience designing and delivering critical electrical systems for mission facilities or other environments that operate around the clock, such as hospitals and Navy ships. They have strong experience with high-voltage requirements, electrical grids, power distribution and controls, redundant distribution systems, backup power, and lighting. The candidate can manage projects from planning through delivery, coordinate with mission teams and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and solve complex electrical challenges involving industrial or subterranean infrastructure. A PMP certification or substantial project management experience is highly desirable.
Salary Range: $76,463 - $118,204. Does not include locality pay
Value of Position (VOP): If your current basic salary is within the band, but above the stated VOP, your basic salary will not be reduced if you are selected for the position.

Qualifications
US citizenship is required.
Position is designated special-sensitive and requires a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret w/SCI clearance.
This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions present a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. It is required that you (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and (b) if requested, submit to urinalysis testing.
May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
Position requires a professional engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET accredited institution is required. Advanced degrees are preferred.
RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Professional knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices and familiarity with architectural and other engineering disciplines.
Knowledge of a broad range of engineering and construction standards, methods, practices, and techniques, materials, and equipment to determine compliance with federal, state, and local codes and regulations; of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures as it relates to facilities engineering; knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, and/or technical orders; of environmental principles, practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and current legislative issues; of work classifications and the regulatory and statutory restrictions on the expenditures of appropriated and non-appropriated funds.
Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and economic usage to effectively accomplish assigned functions; and knowledge of program planning and budgeting cycles, financial control and budget systems and management.
Knowledge of aesthetic and functional design techniques and skill in preparing project documentation, to include preliminary drawings, sketches, and construction drawings; and technique / skill in drafting sufficient to convey design concepts and ideas and formulate working drawings.
Ability to plan, conduct and record site/facilities surveys and inspection; to analyze, interpret, and apply results, rules, regulations, and procedures in a variety of situations and recommend timely and economical solutions.
Ability to plan and organize work and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and architects; and communicate effectively both orally and in writing and maintain good working relationships.
