Job Function:We are looking for a passionate
Electrical Engineer to help shape the next generation of innovative robotic tool changer systems. In this role, you will combine electrical design with hands-on testing, validation, and the development of automated test equipment. Working closely with global R&D teams, you will play a key role in bringing new technologies from concept to reality, ensuring they are robust, reliable, and ready for demanding industrial environments.
Reports to: R&D Manager
Responsibilities and Objectives:Electrical Design & Product Development- Design electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using eCAD tools (e.g., EPLAN).
- Contribute to the development of electrical architectures for robotic tool changers.
- Collaborate with global R&D teams during product development.
- Engage in design reviews, risk assessments, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
- Address safety requirements by aligning with Performance Level (PL) and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) standards.
- Maintain technical documentation such as Bills of Materials (BOMs), specifications, and performance reports.
Test Engineering & Validation- Define comprehensive test plans and test cases, covering functional, electrical, safety, and failure scenarios.
Automated Test Bench Development- Design and build innovative test bench setups with capabilities for power, load simulation, and signal emulation.
- Integrate measurement and Data Acquisition (DAQ) equipment into automated test benches.
Test Automation- Develop automated test sequences
- Ensure repeatability and scalability of test processes.
Data Handling & Analysis- Implement effective data logging and monitoring concepts.
- Analyze data trends and failures, producing insightful reports for further validation.
System Integration and Debugging- Integrate systems with PLCs, robotics, and industrial communication protocols.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, software, and mechatronic system issues.
- Perform root cause analyses for failures.
Adheres to all safety, quality and environmental standardsQualificationsEducation & Experience- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with electrical design and automation is preferred.
Technical Skills- Competency in using eCAD tools like EPLAN.
- Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and industrial communication protocols (Profinet, EtherCAT, IO-Link, etc.).
- Experience with Python for test automation is strongly preferred.

Additional InformationPhysical Requirements:- Periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry objects
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- Dexterity and accuracy as needed to operate equipment
Work schedule:- This position will report to the Duncan, SC office
- Occasional travel may be required to project sites across international locations. (up to 15%)
- Opportunities for remote work may be discussed based on project requirements.
