Full Job Description
About the Role

We are seeking a senior Electrical Engineer to own the architecture, standardization, and delivery of on-site and supplemental power across our data center campuses. This spans renewables power distribution (solar and wind), battery energy storage, on-site generation, and - critically - temporary power and mobile substation solutions that bring capacity online ahead of permanent utility delivery.

As the area SME, you will define reference architectures that balance CAPEX/OPEX, reliability, and evaluate next-generation power technologies; and standardize design packages so quality is repeatable and project timelines shrink. You will serve as a technical escalation point for on-site power availability and performance issues, driving root cause analysis and lessons learned across the fleet.

Responsibilities
  • Define the reference architecture for on-site and supplemental power generation and distribution, balancing CAPEX/OPEX and reliability goals.
  • Design and deliver temporary power and mobile substation solutions to energize facilities ahead of, or in parallel with, permanent utility infrastructure - including bridging power strategies that accelerate speed-to-power.
  • Lead electrical design and integration of renewables power distribution (solar and wind) and BESS into campus MV systems, including collector systems, interconnection, and protection interfaces.
  • Evaluate and adopt new power technologies (e.g., fuel cells, advanced battery storage, microgrid controllers) and develop the technical justification for major capital investments.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for on-site power availability or performance issues, driving root cause analysis and lessons learned across sites.
  • Standardize design packages and operational procedures to ensure repeatable quality and minimize project timelines across the portfolio.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in power systems, power generation, or power distribution engineering for grid-connected facilities.
  • Experience providing temporary power and/or mobile substations to facilities - including generator farms, rental fleets, mobile transformers/switchgear, and bridging power schemes.
  • Experience designing or integrating renewables power distribution (solar and/or wind), including collector systems and interconnection to MV distribution.
  • Strong working knowledge of MV distribution equipment: transformers, switchgear, generators, and associated protection and controls.
  • Proficiency performing or reviewing power system studies (load flow, short circuit, coordination, arc flash).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with utility and on-site power generation design and commissioning for data center supplemental power.
  • Experience with BESS, fuel cells, microgrid controllers, and grid support functions (demand response, voltage/frequency support).
  • Familiarity with ISO/RTO interconnection and NERC/FERC requirements (ERCOT, PJM, MISO, CAISO), including large-load ride-through solutions (STATCOM, synchronous condensers, BESS).

Benefits
  • Competitive total compensation package (cash + equity).
  • Retirement or pension plan, in line with local norms.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Generous PTO policy, in line with local norms.

The base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location. This range represents our good faith estimate of the compensation for this role at the time of posting. Total compensation may also include equity in the form of stock options.

We are committed to pay equity and transparency.

You will receive a confirmation email once your application has successfully been accepted. If there is an error with your submission and you did not receive a confirmation email, please email [redacted] with your resume/CV, the role you've applied for, and the date you submitted your application-- someone from our recruiting team will be in touch.
