Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Electrical Engineer, Power Distribution to support our Crossett mill operations. This role serves as the site's primary subject matter expert for medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, ensure system reliability, support capital projects, and develop strategies that improve the performance, safety, and effectiveness of the mill's electrical infrastructure. This position is not intended to function as a hands-on electrician role. A successful candidate will provide technical expertise, system ownership, and leadership to support the mill's electrical distribution network and long-term operational success.

What You Will Do
  • Serve as the site subject matter expert for medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems, providing technical leadership to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure across the mill.
  • Lead and support power system studies, including arc-flash assessments, load studies, short-circuit analyses, and system evaluations, while maintaining electrical standards, compliance requirements, and distribution system strategies.
  • Maintain and improve critical electrical documentation, including single-line diagrams, system drawings, equipment records, and engineering standards to support operational reliability and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and project teams to identify, prioritize, and implement opportunities that improve safety, reliability, productivity, energy efficiency, and overall business performance.
  • Manage and support electrical and infrastructure projects from concept through startup, including scope development, engineering reviews, management of change activities, contractor coordination, commissioning, and project execution support.
  • Produce, review, and verify engineering designs, calculations, and technical specifications to ensure solutions meet applicable standards, operational requirements, and long-term reliability objectives.
  • Provide field engineering support during planned outages, troubleshooting events, construction activities, equipment installations, startups, and commissioning efforts to ensure successful implementation and sustained performance.
  • Develop and optimize preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for electrical systems, establish appropriate maintenance frequencies, perform root cause failure analyses, and implement corrective actions that reduce risk and prevent recurring failures.
  • Address day-to-day electrical engineering challenges by providing practical technical solutions for issues such as equipment upgrades, motor sizing, load calculations, drive system improvements, power distribution concerns, and other operational needs that do not require full-scale capital project execution.
  • Participate in continuous improvement, safety assessments, and incident investigations while applying sound engineering judgment and economic thinking to improve system performance, strengthen contractor and employee safety, close audit findings, and create long-term value for the facility.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Experience supporting, maintaining, designing, or improving medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems in an industrial, manufacturing, utility, commercial, or similar environment.
  • Experience with electrical distribution analysis activities such as power studies, load studies, short-circuit studies, coordination studies, or arc-flash assessments.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and compliance requirements related to power distribution systems.
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and maintaining electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams.


What Will Put You Ahead
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience using SKM, EasyPower, ETAP, or similar power-system modeling software.
  • Pulp & Paper experience.
  • Experience supporting electrical infrastructure projects, reliability initiatives, or system modernization efforts.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure.
  • Project Management Experience
