The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $$73,920 - $97,885. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Electrical Engineer I, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.
The Electrical Engineer I supports the development efforts on projects aimed at improving production efficiency for electrical systems. This role is focused on learning product structure and capabilities, supporting design tasks and gaining exposure to electrical engineering tools and processes. S&C's Custom Engineering organization designs Engineer-To-Order solutions for a portfolio of products including Manual, Remote Supervisory, and Source-Transfer Vista for a wide range of customers including electric utilities and industrial/ commercial power users. In this job, you will report to the Assistant Manager - Custom Engineering
Key Responsibilities:- Designing switchgear control systems and metering circuits to meet specific customer application requirements using S&C automation products
- Designing panel layouts, wire harness, cable assemblies, and generating Bills of Materials
- Specifying low voltage electrical components including protection relays, RTUs, communication devices, and instrument transformers.
- Defining requirements and writing custom instructions for production testing of control circuits
- Generating supplementary instruction sheets that describe the operation of control circuitry
- Participating in cross-functional design teams to ensure customer needs are satisfied through high-quality product designs that are delivered in a timely manner
- Providing engineering support to a team of mechanical and electrical designers and acting as a technical resource for problem-solving activities in both design and production processes
What you'll Need to Succeed:- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- Experience in design and drafting electrical schematics and interconnection diagrams for low voltage control circuits
- Proficiency in the use of CAD systems, preferably Zuken, MicroStation, SolidEdge, or AutoCAD
- Experience in, or working knowledge of, medium voltage switching, and protection products and systems is not required but is a plus
- Must be self-motivated, well-organized, and skilled decision maker that is comfortable in a fast-paced design and manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical abilities with good interpersonal and communication skills
- Outstanding problem-solving skills
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or creation of Excel macros using VBA is a plus
