Full Job Description
The Engineer IV is a senior engineering position responsible for providing advanced-level technical engineering support for applicable codes, industry standards, best practices, and all essential underlying engineering/physics aspects of all projects or tasks. This is a senior technical engineering role with advanced knowledge of electrical engineering concepts demonstrated subject matter expertise, and the capability to mentor and teach senior engineering leaders.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Possess a solid knowledge of all aspects of electrical engineering, including power distribution, protection, control, lighting, grounding, energy conservation, and value engineering as they relate to designing state-of-the-art, highly constructible projects.
  • Possess "expert level" skills in multiple technical areas considered "competencies" for Rosendin Engineering.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for areas of specialty.
  • Provide advanced technical support in the areas considered "competencies" for Rosendin Engineering.
  • Mentor other engineers within Rosendin Engineering to develop their expertise.
  • Oversee the process of finding and implementing solutions to significant technical challenges, including presenting and explaining them to the appropriate engineers and designers who will implement them.
  • Identify and bring on board individuals who possess comparable expertise in fields deemed as "competencies" by Rosendin Engineering.
  • Visit job sites to field survey existing electrical conditions and gather intricate detail related to the most significant technical challenges related to projects.
  • Have the ability to utilize special equipment such as power analyzers, relay test sets, signal generators, and/or software for connecting to digital relays, programmable controllers, and other intelligent devices.
  • Quality control of design documents for compliance with technical or Code related aspects, including layouts, studies, specifications, bases of design (BOD's), sequences of operation (SOO's),control diagrams, and control point-to-points to quality control the work of multiple team members.
  • Conduct value engineering functions.
  • Generate detailed project specifications for complex/intricate equipment and systems (specifications that are not standard form specs).
  • Advanced knowledge of equipment and system testing and commissioning.
  • Resolve various complex problems (i.e., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements).

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Fluency with applicable codes and standards
  • Working knowledge of the energy efficiency requirements
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.);
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position
  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others


WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
  • A four-year degree from an accredited university or college in engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of Engineering Experience (combination of education, training, and relevant experience)
  • Registration as a US-based Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required for this position
  • Advanced knowledge of all aspects of electrical engineering, including power distribution, power system protection, automation and control, system observe-ability including BMS and SCADA systems, backup generation, large-scale UPS, lighting, grounding, energy conservation, value engineering, applicable codes, and standards, etc.required.
  • The ability to assume responsibility,interface,and coordinate with others is essential, as is the ability to analyze and resolve complex engineering problems


TRAVEL:
  • Up to 30%


WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
