Full Job Description

GFT is seeking a dynamic and driven Water Engineer to work in our Audubon, PA office. This position follows a hybrid-remote work format, with 3 days required on site per week. 

 

What you'll be challenged to do:

The Water Design Engineer will assist in the planning, design, and construction of water, wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include conducting site visits, preparing reports and design documents, reviewing development and stormwater plans, supporting permitting efforts, and performing construction observation and field services.

 In this capacity, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Participate in the planning, design and construction administration of water, wastewater and municipal infrastructure facilities/projects
  • Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections, and assist with data collection and compilation for utility infrastructure projects
  • Prepare reports
  • Develop design plans, specifications and cost estimates
  • Review Subdivision, Land Development, Grading and Zoning plans, including review and development of Stormwater Management and Erosion and Sediment Control plans
  • Prepare federal, state and local permit applications
  • Perform construction observation and field engineering services
  • Prepare grant/funding applications

What you will bring to our firm: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 1-4 years’ of related experience in water/wastewater engineering.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to assist in/conduct effective client presentations and prepare written reports.
  • Experience working with municipal and private utilities.
  • Progressive experience in evaluation, design, permitting and construction administration of infrastructure improvements will be favorably considered.
  • Physically able to perform work in the field.
  • Team player possessing strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of BIM, Civil 3D, GIS, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling or other specialty engineering software.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite and use of standard engineering software.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, or the ability to obtain Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification within 3 months of hire required.
  Compensation:The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $100,000.
