This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.
As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you willown the electrical interconnect documentation that defines and supports our Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) labs. You will create and maintain System Interconnect Diagrams (SIDs), Block Interconnect Diagrams (BIDs), HIL networking diagrams, and end-to-end schematics in AutoCAD Electrical, along with harness wiring information (from-to tables) and 2D harness drawings in Creo. Your documentation is what technicians, integration engineers, and customers rely on to build, troubleshoot, and modify the HIL labs, so accuracy and configuration control are critical to everything you do.
To be successful, you will work closely with HIL integration engineers, technicians, and customers to capture connectivity requirements and translate them into clear, manufacturing- and build-ready documentation. You will need to be comfortable moving between high-level system architecture (SIDs, BIDs, network topology) and detailed, build-level documentation (schematics, from-to tables, harness drawings, BOMs).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain System Interconnect Diagrams (SIDs) and Block Interconnect Diagrams (BIDs) to map system-level connectivity, signal flow, and power distribution across HIL racks, Avionics equipment, and simulation/EGSE interfaces.
- Create and maintain HIL networking diagrams documenting network topology, switch/port assignments, and connectivity between HIL nodes, simulation hosts, and flight/ground avionics.
- Design end-to-end electrical schematics in AutoCAD Electrical, including component selection, signal routing, and pin-out definitions.
- Generate and maintain harness wiring information (from-to tables) that accurately captures wire, connector, and pin-level connectivity for HIL cable assemblies.
- Create 2D wire harness drawings and manufacturing build packages in Creo, complete with bills of materials (BOMs), wire lengths, and bundle dimensions.
- Select and specify electrical components such as connectors, terminals, wire types, fuses, and protection sleeves appropriate for HIL lab and integration environments.
- Support prototype builds, bring-up, troubleshooting, and validation of HIL wiring and interconnects, working directly with technicians during assembly and integration.
- Establish and maintain drafting standards, symbol libraries, and configuration control for HIL electrical documentation, including redlines and revisions in Windchill.
- Collaborate with HIL customers, integration engineers, and quality to identify documentation requirements and resolve discrepancies between as-built hardware and controlled drawings.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- 2-5 years of experience in electrical system integration, schematic design, or wire harness development.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical (or similar tools) for schematic and interconnect diagram creation.
- Working knowledge of Creo (or similar 3D/2D CAD tool) for 2D harness drawing creation.
- Solid understanding of wire sizing (AWG), shielding principles, and connector mating systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and produce accurate, actionable documentation and BOMs.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; able to work effectively with technicians, engineers, and customers.
- Comfortable working across multiple levels of documentation, from system-level block diagrams to detailed from-to wiring tables.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) or system integration lab (SIL) environment.
- Familiarity with Ethernet, UDP/IP, and multicast networking concepts as applied to HIL networking diagrams.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC-WHMA-A-620 for harness quality.
Base Pay Range for:
WA applicants is $99,201.00 - $138,880.35
