About the role

Reporting to the Department Manager, the Electrical and controls Engineer is responsible for all aspects of electrical, automation and control systems for all the equipment in the factory, in order to prevent equipment downtime and to increase productivity, safety and quality.

This role is not currently sponsoring visas or considering international movement at this time!

Your responsibilities

  • Provide electrical, controls, and automation engineering support to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production operations.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing equipment and control systems, including PLC programming changes, preventative maintenance support, and root cause problem-solving to minimize downtime.
  • Lead and support capital and continuous improvement projects, from planning and execution through implementation of new equipment, processes, and technologies.
  • Partner with production and maintenance teams to improve asset performance, develop operational strategies, and drive productivity and reliability improvements.
  • Maintain technical documentation and engineering standards, including electrical schematics, equipment specifications, operating procedures, and spare parts inventory management.


The experience we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment; experience with high-speed packaging equipment preferred.
  • Strong electrical controls and automation knowledge, including process controls, motor controls, instrumentation, industrial networking, and Allen-Bradley PLC/FactoryTalk platforms.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving expertise, with the ability to diagnose complex equipment issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing systems, including the interaction of equipment, materials, processes, environment, and people to optimize operational performance.

US salary ranges

USD $88,000.00 - $132,000.00

US pay transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law.
