We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to support the design, development, integration, and fielding of a next-generation autonomous aircraft system. This position requires a balance of technical rigor, rapid decision-making, and hands-on engineering to efficiently transition concepts into operational capability. The ideal candidate is comfortable solving complex problems, taking ownership, working within an accelerated aircraft development environment, and is motivated by getting meaningful capability into the hands of operators quickly.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:- Define and execute the vision of the aircraft power system from concept to production. This includes power generation, regulation, distribution, power quality, control, etc.
- Design, develop, and integrate state-of-the-art high-power systems tailored for optimal performance and reliability in harsh environments (high altitude, radiation, etc.)
- Design custom power electronics for high power and high voltage
- Design an uninterruptible power system with a high-capacity battery
- Make vs. buy trade studies. Select, test, and integrate modules for use in the aircraft
- Build a world class power electronics lab
- Ensure system performance and reliability are met through rigorous verification
- Debug complex problems related to the electrical design, environmental, manufacturing, etc.
- Build your team and lead multiple engineers dedicated to the power system design
- Drive a cross-functional team to execute the top-level architecture
- Provide mentorship, design review, and program execution leadership
- Work in a fast-paced environment
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Power system design experience on large aircraft, or an equivalent power system (rocket, satellite, submarine, etc.)
- 10+ years relevant experience
- Have delivered power system and power electronic products to market
- Proficient with electrical engineering development tools, simulation, and test equipment
- Strong technical fundamentals and analysis
$216,000 - $325,000 a year
