Full Job Description
Where is the work:
Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.

What's in it for you:

Responsible for the promotion and maintenance of the Area environmental safety and health program as directed by the Regional Environmental Health and Safety Leader. Must reside within or close to Atlanta, GA. This role will support commercial sales offices in the Southeast US.

What you will do:
• Assist with leading and coordinating safety process efforts in the commercial sales / service office as directed by the Regional EHS Leader.
• Conduct inspections, risk assessments and jobsite visits with technicians at customer sites, both service and contracting.
• Ensure all safety, occupational health and environmental related records are accurately maintained and in compliance with OSHA, DOT, provincial, state, or other regulatory agency rules and regulations and Trane procedures.
• Implement Trane safety policies and procedures to be followed by company personnel. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
• Analyze safety data to coordinate the safety effort for continual improvement. Participate in department Lean processes including Regional EHS A3.
• Assist in development and conduct annual safety training in assigned area offices, to include all regional employees.
• Conduct new-hire safety training in assigned areas. Purchase required PPE, conduct in-person high-risk training, and assign online training as determined by the business and regional training plan.
• Ensure that regional training, Qualified Person, PPE, and inspection databases are updated and maintained.
• Participate on corporate teams as needed to assist in the development of safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure safety and/or environmental invoices and purchase requisitions are processed in a timely manner.
• Coordinate and lead the Safety Committees in assigned areas and complete action items in a timely manner.
• Participate in investigation of injuries, near misses, incidents and accidents and ensures corrective actions are implemented and completed.
• Complete third-party qualifications via ISN, Avetta, etc.
• Utilize company EHS platform, Gensuite, as directed to assign and monitor inspections, concern and near miss reports, Action Tracking System items and generate various reports as directed.
• Ensure inspections and audits are completed on a regular basis in assigned area offices. Assist inspectors in corrective actions and development of preventative measures.
• Assist with overseeing the administration of workers' compensation program, including working with the insurance carrier, and administering the return-to-work program.
• Represent the organization in the community and / or industry safety groups and programs.
• Assist in evaluation of contractors as part of the regional contractor qualification program.
Ability to travel up to 65% within the Region with approximately 25% overnight stays. Travel required to other office locations and customer work sites. Position provides fleet vehicle for travel.

What you will bring:

This individual is expected to have practical working knowledge of environment, health, and safety and / or field operations. A bachelor's degree in occupational safety, safety sciences, or related field is highly recommended, but not required. At least 3 years of practical safety experience in a previous role or an equivalent combination of education and experience are preferred. This individual is expected to develop with the position to obtain a working knowledge of the Regional and company safety culture, OSHA, provincial, state, and other safety regulatory agencies, worker's compensation, hazard recognition and mitigation, and interpretation of state and local safety guidelines as they apply, or other duties as directed by the Regional EHS Leader. Proficiency in MS Office suite applications required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to:

o DUI in previous 5 years

o Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental or Safety Sciences/Engineering, or related field.
• One or more safety-related professional certifications is desired (i.e., CSP, CIH, CHSM).
• A minimum of 3+ years of practical environmental health and safety management experience at a medium-large site preferred.
• General knowledge of OSHA, EPA, MSHA, DOT, Canada Health & Safety Board as regionally appropriate.
• Experience in the interpretation of federal, provincial, state, local, environmental and safety standards.
• Beginning experience in fast paced, changing/growing organization.
• Excellent time management skills and computer experience in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, and Word) and EHS data management system (i.e., Gensuite).
• Ability to motivate, engage and influence others.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including written and verbal in English. Bi-lingual is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt well to face-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
• Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
• Must be a self-starter.
• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and perform duties in hot and cold environments. Sites include office settings, construction sites, rooftops, warehouses, manufacturing plants, etc.
• Comfortable working with field technicians, presenting training material to large audiences, as well as communicating with leaders in the organization.
• Ability to design and deliver training material.
• Expected to develop with the position to obtain a working knowledge of the Regional and company safety culture.
