Responsibilities:

  • Be a Key Player: You'll be at the center of all Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives on-site, driving meaningful change every single day
  • Step Into Leadership: Serve as the deputy EHS Leader, taking the reins when the EHS Leader is away
  • Solve Complex Problems:  Actively participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations, getting to the bottom of issues and preventing future incidents
  • Share Your Expertise: Act as a trusted Subject Matter Expert within the EHS Team, where your knowledge and insights will shape critical decisions
  • Shape the Future: Join new equipment project teams as the EHS expert, influencing design and implementation from concept through to operational stage
  • Lead with Influence: Become an influential leader in site safety and sustainability campaigns, inspiring others to embrace a culture of safety excellence
  • Be Our Voice: Represent the site in interactions with regulatory authorities and insurance companies on technical EHS topics
  • Master Technical Safety: Maintain and grow your technical expertise in critical areas like Machine Guarding, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), and other essential safety programs
  • Drive Sustainability: Stay connected to site Sustainability targets and projects, ensuring we achieve our environmental goals and make a positive impact
  • Champion Certification: Be a core contributor to our ISO 14001 certification efforts
  • Collaborate Across Programs: Participate in various EHS programs as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering, Environment Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent, preferred.

  • 3 years experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Has or willing to work towards, an auditing certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading EHS projects and teams

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with people at all levels and in various functions including technical staff, business team leaders, and union personnel.

  • Effective skills in the areas of counseling, coaching, and influencing.

  • Demonstrate understanding of federal and state safety and environmental laws.

  • The ability to identify and evaluate workplace hazards and environmental issues.

  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment including interactions with technical staff, operation leaders, and contract personnel.

  • Ability to lead a project or technical team and lead teams virtually.

  • Ability to challenge the organization in a manner that maintains trust and respect.

  • Ability to build business partnerships across and between functional groups.

  • Ability to accept and respond to changes and challenges in a positive manner.

  • Demonstrated capability to analyze problems and provide accurate solutions.

  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to constructively resolve conflicts.

  • High energy and passion for excellence, adaptability, resilience, and taking action.

  • Knowledge of standard computer programs and databases (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
