About the role
The Ag Education Manager oversees development and implementation of programs for Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom (IAITC), a statewide program that seeks to increase ag literacy (i.e., awareness, knowledge, and appreciation) for preschool through 12th grade teachers and their students. Supervises assigned staff.
How does this role make an impact?
• Oversees development and distribution of classroom resources for use by teachers, students, pre-service teachers, volunteers and ag literacy staff.
• Fosters positive relationships and collaborates with other organizations involved in ag education and literacy.
• Manages various programs related to ag literacy, such as grants, recognition, awards and Adopt a Classroom.
• Provides supervisory leadership for assigned staff, including employment, training, supervision, support and ongoing performance feedback.
• Cooperates with IAA Foundation staff on fundraising efforts.
• Exercises professional leadership by keeping abreast of current issues, trends, developments, technology and opportunities within field of responsibility.
• Assists in developing and managing departmental budget.
Do you have what we're looking for?
Typically requires 6+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training.
Must qualify to be substitute teacher.
- Normal office environment.
- Extensive travel throughout Illinois, including overnights and one weekend per month.
- Ability to lift, move and/or carry materials and displays up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
Base Pay Range:
$89,200-$122,650
The base pay range represents the typical range of potential salary offers for candidates hired. Factors used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, qualifications and experience.
Incentive Pay:
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a Short-Term Incentive plan.
