Full Job Description

Your New Role…

We’re seeking an Editorial Operations Manager to help create and optimize the systems behind editorial production across a wide range of formats – from social media to newsletters, audio, video, and interactive experiences.

This role sits at the intersection of content strategy and project management, where big-picture thinking meets day-to-day execution. You’ll partner closely with writers, editors and producers to build and maintain efficient workflows, clear processes and scalable infrastructure that keep content moving from pitch to publish. This person will be the brain that helps conceive work by thinking backwards from publication to inception.

This is an ideal hands-on role for someone who is analytical, organized and energized by translating editorial vision into practical, repeatable systems.

Your Role Accountabilities...
• Partner with editorial, product, and technology teams to design and maintain efficient content workflows across a fast-moving, multiplatform environment.
• Translate high-level content strategy into clear, actionable processes that the editorial team can adopt, repeat and scale.
• Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in production pipelines and lead efforts to resolve them.
• Build and maintain documentation, playbooks and operational frameworks that create consistency and reduce friction across the content ecosystem.
• Track and synthesize operational metrics, surfacing insights that help editorial and business leaders make smarter, faster decisions about content production and resource allocation.
• Serve as a key point of contact during editorial planning cycles, ensuring that capacity, timelines, and cross-functional dependencies are clearly mapped and communicated before production begins.

Qualifications & Experience...
• 5+ years in content operations, editorial project management or a related role within a complex media or digital organization.
• Demonstrated ability to build and implement workflows, processes and operational frameworks that improve efficiency and scale across cross-functional teams.
• Strong strategic thinking skills: able to synthesize complex information, identify patterns and translate them into clear recommendations and actionable plans.
• Fluency in content production across multiple formats and platforms, with a working understanding of how editorial, product, technology and distribution teams interact.
• High comfort with data and operational metrics, with the ability to track performance, surface insights, and use findings to drive continuous improvement.
• Experience with project management tools, editorial planning systems, or workflow software.
• A natural problem-solver who stays calm under pressure and brings both rigor and pragmatism to ambiguous, fast-moving situations.

How We Get Things Done…

This last bit is probably the most important! Here at WBD, our guiding principles are the core values by which we operate and are central to how we get things done. You can find them at along with some insights from the team on what they mean and how they show up in their day to day. We hope they resonate with you and look forward to discussing them during your interview.
