Job Summary

The European Department has one opening for an experienced Economist in its Northwestern 2 (N2) Unit to work on France, a high-profile G-7 country and intensive surveillance case. The successful candidate will be a core member of the France team and will be expected to contribute to an active surveillance and research agenda, carrying rigorous analytical work, supporting the development of policy lines, and contributing to the drafting of key documents.

The successful candidate should have excellent analytical, drafting, and organizational skills, sound judgement, drive for results, and a strong sense of ownership. Strong interpersonal and communications skills are also critical to foster good relations with country authorities and to work collaboratively in a team environment. Specific responsibilities will be determined based on the candidate's background and interests. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in department-wide analytical projects. Some knowledge of French is required.

Minimum Qualifications

Educational development, including and/or supplemented by work experience, typically acquired through the completion of considerable graduate work in economics, or equivalent, is required.
