As the East Region Marketing Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in advancing the region's growth objectives by partnering with operations and growth leaders to develop and execute strategic initiatives, drive business development efforts, and position GEI for continued success. You'll also lead a high-performing team of marketers who support pursuit strategy, client engagement, proposal development, and interview preparation for opportunities across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, environmental, and engineering services.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties - Partner with East Region Operations and Growth Leadership to develop, communicate, and implement regional strategic plans and annual growth initiatives.
- Partner with regional leadership to prioritize strategic pursuits and align marketing resources with the East Region's growth priorities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of marketing professionals, fostering collaboration, professional development, and marketing excellence.
- Guide business development and pursuit strategy, including client positioning, account management, capture planning, proposal development, and interview preparation.
- Collaborate with technical and growth leaders to develop compelling win strategies that showcase GEI's expertise and differentiate the firm in the marketplace.
- Build strong relationships across the region and throughout the enterprise, working closely with the Director of Marketing, Chief Development Officer, the East Region Operations Manager and Growth Leader, and marketing colleagues nationwide.
- Champion a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and client-focused growth.
- Engaging with regional leadership (VPs, Area/Branch Managers and others) to execute local and regional strategies to drive growth.
- Partnering with other regional and sector-based marketing staff to ensure growth objectives are being met.
- Monitoring and reporting on regional growth initiatives, strategic opportunities, and pursuit performance metrics to support leadership decision-making.
- Providing regular updates to the region and company on strategic planning and implementation efforts.
- Collaborating with GEI's Communications Team and senior seller-doers to develop and implement key communication initiatives.
- Partnering with the larger network of marketing professionals to assist in the development and execution of marketing programs to drive company-wide growth.
- Facilitating market research and analyses, as needed, to identify and inform positioning strategies and opportunities.
- Tracking and prioritizing regional leads and identifies those requiring significant prepositioning.
- Leading capture planning efforts to facilitate positioning strategies, competitive assessments, teaming strategies, and pursuit planning for strategic opportunities; facilitating leadership engagement; and ensuring adherence to established pursuit and quality processes.
- Producing high quality proposals, SOQs and presentations that support the proposal production process.
- Supporting the scheduling and production of the region's pursuit portfolio which will most often contain several proposals with parallel deadlines.
- Managing regional marketing resource allocation and workload prioritization to effectively support strategic pursuits and growth objectives, often requiring coordination with Director of Marketing; corporate marketing staff; and other regional marketing teams.
- Collaborating with technical proposal managers to conceptualize and develop the schedule for production of individual proposals.
- Overseeing the quality assurance and quality control process for marketing deliverables across the region inclusive of all proposals, qualifications, presentations, posters, conference materials
- Welcoming and training all new senior seller-doers on marketing best practices. Lead annual marketing training sessions for seller-doers.
- Supporting the regional account management program.
- Developing marketing collateral.
- Leading the planning and execution of company marketing events such as conferences, seminars, webinars, and other outreach events.
- Leading GEI's presence at industry conferences and actively participating in professional organizations to strengthen the firm's visibility, relationships, and market presence.
- Managing the regional conference calendar, inclusive of assigning marketers and assessing ROI before and after events.
- Traveling to client/prospect/teaming partner/branch offices as occasionally required, including overnight travel.
Success in this role means building trusted relationships across the East Region, developing a high-performing marketing team, helping increase pursuit win rates, strengthening client engagement, improving marketing effectiveness, and advancing the region's strategic growth objectives.
Minimum Qualifications - Minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience in marketing and proposals in the A/E industry.
- BA/BS degree with major/minors in Marketing, Management, Communications, Business, English, History, or related field.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Outstanding (a) written and (b) verbal communications skills.
- Able to lead the creation and delivery of high-quality presentation materials, and train/coach staff to deliver effective presentations.
- Complete understanding of the AEC positioning and proposal process and able to lead and work as part of a team.
- Excellent customer/partner/client relationship skills.
- Able to build and foster long-term relationships with internal teams and external prospects, clients, and partners.
- Self-motivated - able to work with minimal direction.
- Comfortable working with all levels of company leadership and staff.
- High level of computer experience with Microsoft office, and Adobe InDesign graphics suite (the companywide standard); experience with databases preferred.

- Pay Range For This Position: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00/year
