The Role
We are recruiting for two highly organized and experienced E&I Quality Control Inspectors to join our team. This role is primarily focused on the Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) scope, with a critical emphasis on the progressive development, review, and finalization of project turnover binders. The successful candidate will ensure that all E&I documentation meets client and regulatory standards, facilitating a seamless transition from construction to commissioning and final turnover.
This position follows a 14 days on / 14 days off rotation, working 12-hour shifts at Kearl Oil Sands. This is a camp-based position with flights provided from Edmonton and/or Calgary.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Turnover Management: Lead the progressive development and compilation of E&I turnover binders. Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and organized to meet client requirements for system turnover.
- Quality Inspection: Perform quality oversight of E&I installations, ensuring compliance with project specifications, design drawings, and relevant codes (CEC/NEC).
- Documentation Oversight: Review and approve subcontractor quality documentation, including ITRs (Inspection Test Records), loop check reports, and cable test results.
- Commissioning Support: Coordinate and witness testing activities including point-to-point checks, loop checks, insulation resistance (Megger) testing, and instrument calibration verification.
- Walkdowns & Punch-listing: Organize and lead system walkdowns with client representatives and internal teams. Identify, document, and manage the tracking and close-out of punch-list items.
- Interface Coordination: Act as the primary interface for E&I quality documentation between construction teams, engineering, and the client. Maintain status logs for RFIs, FCNs, and quality reports.
- As-Builts: Manage the redlining process and verify that as-built drawings are accurately reflected in the final turnover package
Skills/Education/Qualifications
- Certification: Journeyman Electrician or Instrumentation Technician certification (or equivalent).
- Turnover Expertise: Demonstrated track record of leading and finalizing E&I turnover binders for major projects. Strong familiarity with ITR management, system handover processes, and project close-out requirements.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of E&I codes, standards, and typical oil and gas infrastructure.
- Tools & Systems: Proficiency with Google Docs, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam Revu. Familiarity with project data management or turnover software (e.g., MC Plus, O3) is a strong asset.
- Soft Skills: Strong time management skills, with the ability to handle concurrent deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills for client and subcontractor interfacing.
- Safety First: Must be willing to complete necessary safety training and maintain a safety-conscious work environment.
- Compliance: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing/criminal background checks.
