Full Job Description
As Marqeta's Due Diligence Senior Analyst, you will lead comprehensive due diligence assessments that protect Marqeta, our customers/programs, and our issuing bank partners - while ensuring a smooth, high-quality experience for the customers and banks we partner with. You'll be a key member of the Program Due Diligence (PDD) team within Risk & Compliance, partnering with subject matter experts across Legal, Financial Crimes, Information Security, Finance, etc. to evaluate programs before and after launch.

You'll also partner with Go-to-Market (GTM) teams to guide customers through the Due Diligence process to program launch, and support bank requests across Marqeta's bank partners across the US, Canada, and EU. This role goes beyond execution: you'll own workstreams, shape risk frameworks, and bring a consultative, independent perspective that elevates how the PDD team operates.

We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remotely anywhere within Ontario or British Columbia, Canada. We'd love for you to join us!

This position is both for an existing and not existing vacancy.
The Impact You'll Have
  • Lead end-to-end program due diligence reviews - from a program's kickoff to post-launch continuous periodic reviews. Drive assessments overseeing regulatory, financial, operational, and reputational risks - with a high degree of independence, proactiveness, and accountability for outcomes.
  • Manage relationships and projects with cross-functional partners on due diligence workstreams, including external global enterprise companies, and banks across the US, Canada, EU, etc. Host walkthrough calls / presentations on the due diligence workstreams.
  • Serve as a primary cross-functional partner for internal SMEs across Marqeta: Legal, Risk, Compliance (LRC), InfoSec, Finance, Financial Crimes, Privacy, etc. as they review due diligence. Driving alignment and moving reviews forward with clarity and prioritization.
  • Own and evolve risk assessment frameworks, dashboards, and reporting tools that track program health and support informed decision-making by senior leadership.
  • Coordinate with LRC and GTM teams to ensure program compliance with bank-specific requirements, managing competing timelines with focus and precision.
  • Identify opportunities to improve PDD processes and contribute to the continuous evolution of Marqeta's Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) framework, including Salesforce tooling enhancements, AI-tool development/integrations, risk mitigation improvements, and program onboarding experience upgrades
Who You Are
  • 3-5+ years of experience in due diligence, third-party risk management, compliance, project/program management, or a related field - ideally within a fintech, payments, or financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple multi-stakeholder reviews/projects from kickoff to delivery, navigating ambiguity with confidence and sound judgment.
  • Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesize findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Experienced communicator who can engage credibly with cross-functional teams, partner banks, and external program stakeholders - written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks applicable to card issuing, payments, or program management.
  • Comfortable working in, improving, adopting common collaboration and productivity tools and risk management tools (e.g., Salesforce, Slack, Google Workspace, dashboards, reporting platforms).
  • A hands-on approach, concise and straightforward style
  • A love for collaboration, teamwork, and delivering excellence
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
Nice-To-Haves
  • Experience with the financial technology space, card payment issuance, program managers, or payment processors
  • Experience supporting bank partnerships, due diligence reviews, or audits and examinations
  • CAMS certification or equivalent AML/BSA credential is a plus
