ABOUT THE ROLEWe are hiring Duck Creek DevOps Engineer to own and enhance the release management, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for core Duck Creek applications. In this role, you will work closely with development, quality assurance, and architecture teams to streamline deployment workflows, ensure system reliability, and automate infrastructure in an offshore capacity.
You will act as a key technical hands-on contributor, driving operational efficiency, minimizing deployment friction, and enforcing DevOps best practices across Duck Creek platform environments.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for Duck Creek platform components (Policy, Billing, Claims, Clarity, or Insights).
- Configure, manage, and optimize release management and automated deployment workflows using Octopus Deploy.
- Collaborate with development and testing teams to streamline environment provisioning, build automation, and deployment schedules.
- Implement automated monitoring, logging, and performance metrics across non-production and production Duck Creek environments.
- Troubleshoot complex deployment failures, infrastructure bottlenecks, and configuration drift to ensure high availability and stability.
- Establish environment management practices, automated rollback procedures, and environment health checks.
- Partner with security and compliance teams to enforce automated security scans, access controls, and release governance.
- Document deployment procedures, runbooks, and CI/CD architecture to foster team knowledge sharing and operational transparency.
- WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps / Release Engineering role.
- Strong, direct experience supporting and deploying Duck Creek applications and suite components.
- Deep, practical knowledge of Octopus Deploy for release orchestration and environment deployments.
- Proven track record building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps, GitLab, or Jenkins.
- Solid scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for process and infrastructure automation.
- Technical Depth
- Solid understanding of IIS configuration, Windows Server administration, and MS SQL Server management relevant to Duck Creek architecture.
- Practical knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) concepts and configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably Azure) and containerization concepts.
- Strong command of version control systems (Git) and branching strategies suitable for enterprise applications.
- NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with cloud-native monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Datadog, Splunk).
- Exposure to database deployment automation tools (e.g., Redgate, Liquibase, DbUp).
- Prior experience working in offshore/nearshore delivery models in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance environments.
