Chipton-Ross is seeking a DSP Systems Engineer (Level 5) for a contract opportunity in El Segundo, CA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 6+ years of experience with signal processing or image processing.
  • 10+ years of experience with electronic systems engineering.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop next generation RF, and digital satellite communication systems.
  • Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point digital signal processing architectures.
  • Allocate, define, and verify requirements and interfaces in the development of communication digital payloads.
  • Develop performance and link budgets.
  • Conduct performance analysis of signal processing models.
  • Execute payload subsystem trade studies to improve performance cost and/or schedule.
  • Develop prototype demonstrations on communication subsystem testbeds.
  • Plan unit-level integration and performance simulations.
  • Support ASIC and FPGA level system design and verification.
  • Support hardware procurement, design reviews, and unit sell-offs.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

  • Master's degree in or similar degree in signal processing or algorithm development focus
  • Development of algorithms for hardware implementation on ASICs or FPGAs
  • Digital Signal Processing based classes, projects or work experience
  • Simulink experience in work or school. Python, C++, or other languages acceptable
  • Substantive involvement and/or leadership in group-oriented project work
  • Verification planning and principles, while applying their theoretical knowledge in resolving real world problems
  • Typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications


REQUIRED EDUCATION

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science (e.g. Bachelor's degree with 14 or more years' experience, Master's degreee with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

WORK HOURS

FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT; 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
