Job Description:
This role is to perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design of street and highway drainage facilities including but not limited to storm drain systems, culverts, retention/detention basins, ditches, and channels. This position will require experience in preparing and supervising final design tasks including plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Responsibilities will also include marketing local agencies, design criteria compliance, quality control for transportation, and public works drainage.
Duties:
• Responsible for the completion of drainage-engineering project elements such as reports, designs, specifications, and plans
• Provides technical guidance to less experienced Engineers/EIT's
• Works closely with other disciplines and multi-discipline projects
• Conducts design and constructability reviews of plans
• Provides support for final design review and quality assurance/control
• Coordinates design development and assists in providing technical direction
• Provides technical expertise in project aspects
• Works in collaboration with other offices within the company
• Work independently and supervise others to prepare final design plans and specifications, perform advanced hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, write and assemble drainage reports
• Experience working in a team environment is very important
• Should have the ability to take and to give design direction depending upon role on a given project
Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
• Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or a related field
• Minimum of five (5) years of design experience for AZ role.
• P.E, Registration required in the jurisdiction of the position
• Integrity and Highly Motivated
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microstation, Openroads, and AutoCAD
• River mechanics, erosion and scour calculations, and sediment transport training/experience a plus
• Experience using Project Wise or other file management/file-sharing software is a plus
• Knowledge of standard hydraulic and hydrology software is a plus (i.e. InRoads Storm and Sanitary, HEC-RAS (1D/2D), FLO-2D, HY-8, QGIS, StormCAD, SWMM)

This position will require general supervision and will have to use independent judgment within established guidelines. Generally, uses the advanced knowledge to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances. Will need the ability to establish rapport quickly with others working on the same project, and be able to promote a positive team environment.
