What you will do

Ready to make an impact at the forefront of engineering innovation? Join Johnson Controls as a Documentation Specialist, where you'll play a critical role in shaping how our engineering teams design, collaborate, and deliver world-class solutions.

In this role, you will drive the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of PTC Creo and Windchill documentation, best practices, and workflows-ensuring excellence in engineering design quality and consistency. You'll create structured, AI-ready documentation and validation frameworks that empower engineers to confidently verify compliance with requirements and accelerate streamlined product release processes.

Location: This is an onsite position based at our Advanced Development and Engineering Center in New Freedom, PA. Candidates must be within commuting distance or open to relocation-relocation packages are available. Only U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents will be considered.

How you will do it
  • Develop standardized best practices for modeling, assemblies, and drawings
  • Define modeling methodologies, feature structure, and drawing standards
  • Create examples, error guides, and reusable templates
  • Document lifecycle states, revisions, and release workflows
  • Define change management processes (ECR/ECN/FCN)
  • Align documentation with BOM and PLM data structures
  • Create structured validation rules and checklists
  • Define criteria for requirements compliance (function, material, tolerance, regulatory)
  • Build reusable rule libraries for AI-assisted validation
  • Ensure documentation usability for both engineers and AI systems
  • Maintain version control and approval workflows
  • Ensure traceability and audit readiness
  • Standardize templates and content formats
  • Partner with engineering, quality, and PLM teams
  • Develop training and guidance materials to drive adoption


What you will need

Required
  • Degree in Engineering, Technology, or related field
  • 3+ years Creo experience (3D and 2D)
  • Working knowledge of Windchill or PLM systems


Preferred
  • Knowledge of engineering standards development
  • Experience documenting Creo Vest Practices
  • Experience documenting PLM workflows
  • Exposure to AI knowledge base or rule-based systems
  • Manufacturing design experience


HIRING SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - $120,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
