Overview

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Docketing Manager in any of the West Coast offices and consideration given for 100% remote US locations. The hours of the position are from 1:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Pacific Time.

TheDocketing Manager will play a pivotal role in our Court Services Department,ensuring theaccuracy of calendar entriescalculated bythe West Coast Calendar Department and providinge-filingsupport to theU.S.litigators.In this multifaceted position, you will verify the calculation of procedural deadlines, oversee the entry of dates in the calendar software, review court filings and litigation documents,provide valuable insights into civil and court procedures, and assist with e-filingsand servicein state and federal courts.

Responsibilities
  • Calendar Management:Verify calculation of procedural deadlines,review the entry of litigation deadlinesin ourU.S.calendaring system,toensureaccuracy andconsistency in calendaring practices.
  • Communication: Act as a resource for attorneys and case teams, answering questions about court calendaring, civil procedures, and judges' rules.
  • Legal Research: Conduct research on court rules, civil procedures, and casehistoriesas necessary.
  • Process Improvement:Assistwith change management efforts to enhance calendaring and docketing procedures.
  • Collaboration:Coordinate with theSF Calendar Supervisortoensure the calendaring entries meet the highest standardsof accuracy. Coordinate with theManaging Attorney27s Offices in NY and DC to ensure consistent Court Services Department operations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum offiveyears of similar related experience in litigationcalendaring and court procedures.
  • Bachelor27s Degree or equivalent work experiencerequired.
  • Strong knowledge of California civilcourt procedures and rules(state superior, appellate, and federal).
  • Experiencewithe-filingrequirements and procedures, includingfiling in variouse-filingplatforms such as CM/ECF, Odyssey, Tyler Technologies,TrueFilingand File & ServeXpress
  • Proficiencywith Aderant-Compulaw,CourtAlertor a compatible database.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload and interact effectively with personnel at all levels.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and to multitask under pressure.
  • Possess strong customer service skills and works well within a team.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is:

  • New York City, Silicon Valley, and San Francisco $85,000 - $130,000
  • Washington DC, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica, Sacramento, Boston, and Seattle $85,000 - $121,000
  • All Other US Locations $76,000 - $112,000

The posted salary reflects the annual base pay for this role. This position may qualify for additional compensation in accordance with firm policy.

The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
