This is a remote position, also referred to as virtual or work from home.

This role will support the Midwest territory, with a preference for candidates located within the region-ideally in or near Omaha, Nebraska.

Bobcat is looking for a District Sales Manager I - Construction to help drive growth and deliver exceptional customer experiences across your territory. In this role, you'll take ownership of a defined market-building strong relationships with dealers, understanding customer needs, and navigating the competitive landscape to uncover opportunities.

You'll play a key role in elevating dealer performance by supporting day-to-day operations, enhancing customer satisfaction, and driving results through training, promotions, and strategic collaboration. This position offers the chance to influence both business performance and the customer experience-while partnering cross-functionally and helping dealers succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Role & Responsibility

Territory Management:
  • Understand the market potential, customer demographics, and competitive landscape of the assigned territory
  • Work with dealerships to ensure high customer satisfaction through quality experiences
  • Build and maintain relationships with dealers to achieve common goals
  • Manage daily activities, plans, and goals within the territory
  • Oversee financial resources, ensuring responsible management for both the Company and its dealers
  • Monitor attachment ratios to focus on growth
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring sales and performance programs
  • Conduct monthly reviews, ensuring dealer compliance with the 6-Month Plan and proper inventory stocking for market success

Dealer Communication and Accountability:
  • Drive dealer performance through regular Sales/Action Plan meetings
  • Present market share data and competitive trends to dealers
  • Review dealer sales data and action plans quarterly, providing guidance on improvements
  • Ensure dealer actions align with company objectives by implementing Action Plan items
  • Coordinate sales blitzes in underperforming counties and report findings
  • Ensure adequate floor plan levels for effective market representation
  • Cultivate customer relationships by participating in dealer events

Dealer Training:
  • Conduct training to improve dealers' product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service
  • Host district sales training schools focusing on new products and competitive positioning
  • Ride along with new sales specialists, providing orientation on products, sales processes, and customer engagement, focusing on underperforming areas

Develop Dealer Strategy and Programs:
  • Ensure comprehensive dealer branch coverage for market reach
  • Oversee Bobcat Specialist coverage for product expertise and sales effectiveness
  • Identify and address dealer gaps by recruiting new dealers
  • Support new dealers for successful market integration
  • Establish and document commitments for performance improvement and accountability

Communication and Development:
  • Collaborate with District Parts & Service Managers, Doosan Bobcat Financial reps, and the Corporate office to drive business success
  • Ensure clear communication and feedback across departments to support marketing and business functions
  • Conduct quarterly dealer performance reviews with DPSMs
  • Coordinate dealer credit lines with DBFS reps, ensuring financial health and efficiency
  • Oversee branding efforts to maintain standards and consistent signage
  • Monitor dealer sales leads for timely follow-up and improved lead conversion


Job Requirement

  • Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in management, Business Administration, Marketing or related field is preferred. Equivalent experience is accepted
  • 2-4 years of relevant sales experience with an understanding of commercial marketing
  • Ability to effectively manage a designated sales territory
  • Self-motivated with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Demonstrate clear and concise verbal communication skills when interacting with team members, dealers, and customers
  • Exhibit strong written communication abilities in composing reports, emails, and other correspondence
  • Effectively communicate sales strategies and objectives to the sales team, ensuring alignment with company goals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate sales insights and feedback in a professional manner
  • Provide clear and timely updates to management regarding sales performance and market trends
  • Proficient with sales management software and CRM systems
  • Valid driver's license with clean Department of Motor Vehicle driving record.
  • Travel Required: Approximately 75%
