Overview

TRC is looking for a skilled Designer IV to support electrical utility design projects and provide excellent customer service throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, ensuring clear communication and a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct customer meetings to gather project requirements, provide updates, and resolve concerns.
  • Deliver responsive, professional customer service throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform field visits to evaluate project sites, verify existing conditions, and collect essential data for design development.
  • Safely operate a company vehicle to travel to job sites, customer locations, and project meetings.
  • Ensure field observations are accurately translated into design specifications and documentation.
  • Develop detailed electrical utility designs, including distribution systems, service layouts, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Prepare construction-ready drawings, specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges.
  • Take full ownership and stewardship of assigned projects from initiation through completion.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture in both field and design activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience with overhead and underground distribution systems.
  • Prior utility or consulting industry experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with utility design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or GIS platforms.
  • Strong understanding of electrical distribution standards, safety regulations, and construction practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret utility maps, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to field locations as needed.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $40.00 - USD $46.00 /Hr.
