The Distribution Center Manager executes the operational strategy of the distribution center ensuring safety, labor, and fiscal management of human and physical assets.
Compensation Data:Exempt salary, based on experience.
Location: Grand Rapids, MI (100% Onsite)
Schedule: 2 shift facility (7am and 4pm starts) - Flexibility in hours
Travel: Minimal
Key Areas of Responsibilities:- Collaborates with operations management on annual budget development and manages daily P&L to fiscal and budgetary expectations.
- Plans for labor, supplies and equipment based on sales forecasts, inventory availability and customer delivery expectations.
- Provides leadership and guidance to the distribution center team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Embeds performance objectives, monitors key performance indicators (KPIs), and leads team in implementing operational efficiencies.
- Uses Lean methodologies to identify waste, streamline processes, and reduce variability.
- Creates a culture of safety, ensuring the facility upholds safety and environmental best practices and regulations.
- Hires, trains and manages employees, identifying and addressing skills gaps through training and development initiatives.
Key Performance Indicators:- Key Performance Indicators meet or exceed expectation: Safety, Lines Picked / Sales $, Fill Rate, Inventory turns, Total Cost, Labor Efficiency.
- Customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and distribution center profitability meet or exceed expectations.
- Develop people and show leadership at all levels.
- Displays creative problem solving.
- Decisions are sound and based on understanding of all available information.
What you will need to succeed:Education & Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field required with 7+ years of operations or supply chain experience.
- Experience leading supply chain teams in high-volume direct to consumer shipping.
- Hands-on experience in implementing and driving sustainable performance using Lean methodologies.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and recommend solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence others.
- Awareness of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements.
