Full Job Description
Your Role:

As a Discovery Instrument Specialist at MilliporeSigma, you will be responsible for the sales and promotion of our Discovery Instrument portfolio, including protein expression profiling systems, reagents, automation tools, and consumables. This field-based role focuses on engaging customers, providing product education, and driving sales opportunities within your assigned territory. You will work closely with senior team members and cross-functional colleagues to advance the sales process and adoption of our Discovery Instrument solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Achieve sales goals for proteomics instrumentation, reagents, and automation platforms within the assigned territory
  • Conduct product overviews, coordinate and perform demonstrations, and respond to customer questions with technical clarity
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Technical teams to align on customer needs and support opportunities
  • Assist with onboarding new customers and providing post-sale application support as needed
  • Develop familiarity with competitive products and support positioning discussions under the guidance of senior colleagues
  • Participate in regional events, trade shows, and customer seminars to promote product visibility
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and opportunities using CRM tools
  • Provide input on customer feedback and field observations to help shape product messaging and road mapping


This position includes travel within the assigned territory of up to 70%.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biology, or other Science field
  • 3+ years of experience in a life science sales, technical support, or lab-based customer-facing role


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biology or other Science field
  • Technical understanding of immunoassays, protein analysis workflows, and/or automation platforms
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a team-oriented environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with CRM platforms such as Salesforce.com


Pay Range for this position: $70,200 - $125,000

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
