We are looking for a Global Director, Workplace Experience to help Mars take the next step in how we approach our corporate workplaces. This highly visible role will bring together business priorities, Associate needs, and enterprise direction across segments and regions.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and practical leader who is comfortable navigating complexity and skilled at building alignment within a decentralized organization. The position is based in the Chicago area and follows a hybrid work model. Domestic and international travel will be required based on business needs.

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's degree in corporate real estate, facilities management, engineering, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience, with 10 or more years in corporate real estate, workplace experience, facilities management, or office program management.
  • Experience supporting a large, multi-site or multi-region corporate office portfolio.
  • Experience leading or governing office construction, renovation, relocation, consolidation, or workplace transformation programs.
  • Demonstrated success developing workplace standards, specifications, governance, playbooks, operating models, or a Center of Excellence.
  • Strong experience managing outsourced workplace, real estate, design, construction, or facilities providers. Experience with a global provider such as SODEXO, CBRE, or JLL is preferred.
  • Strong program management and financial skills, including experience with business cases, capital planning, project prioritization, budgets, cost management, and supplier negotiations.
  • Strong executive communication, influencing, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills within a global, cross-functional, and highly matrixed organization.
  • Experience leading teams, enterprise programs, or global networks through a combination of direct leadership and influence, with strong interpersonal and multicultural communication skills.


What will be your key responsibilities?

Global Workplace Governance and Program Leadership
  • Develop and deploy global workplace standards, specifications, governance, processes, and playbooks for Mars corporate offices.
  • Serve as the central enterprise contact for major office rebuilds, renovations, relocations, restructures, and consolidations.
  • Provide portfolio-level oversight from early planning and business case development through project delivery and closeout.
  • Establish a global office-management community (Center of Excellence) to improve consistency and share leading practices.


Supplier and Portfolio Performance
  • Lead strategic relationships with external workplace, real estate, design, construction, and facilities partners.
  • Define project scope, service expectations, decision rights, deliverables, and accountability across Mars teams and suppliers.
  • Partner with Procurement to negotiate rates and commercial terms and establish clear performance expectations.
  • Monitor project and supplier performance, address delivery risks, and identify opportunities to improve quality, cost, and value.


Stakeholder and Organizational Leadership
  • Build strong relationships with workplace, facilities, real estate, and office leaders across Mars segments, regions, and locations.
  • Partner with People & Organization, Digital Technologies, Finance, Commercial, segment leadership, and local office teams.
  • Advise senior leaders on workplace priorities, office investments, portfolio risks, and recommended tradeoffs.
  • Influence decisions, lead organizational change, and strengthen workplace capability across a decentralized global organization.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range shown is applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting:USD 153,600.00 - USD 211,200.00
