Full Job Description
Position: Director - Full Time

Location: Greenfield, MA

Hours: 40 hours per week

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-4:00pm; occasional weekends, holidays, and evenings

Summary:
  • The Director is responsible for leading, managing, and evaluating programs that serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those supported by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). This leadership role involves overseeing daily operations, supervising staff, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving high-quality, person-centered services.
    The Director is also responsible for representing the agency in the community, building partnerships with employers, and identifying opportunities that promote inclusion and meaningful outcomes for participants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, support, and develop program staff, including coordinating training opportunities that enhance professional development and service delivery quality.
  • Maintain management control over program budgets, staffing, service quality, and administrative processes to ensure operational excellence.
  • Market agency services to community employers and build partnerships to create employment opportunities for program participants.
  • Collaborate with employers to develop job placements that align with participants' interests, skills, and support needs.
  • Oversee person-centered planning and ensure services promote independence, dignity, and meaningful community involvement for all individuals served.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with individuals served, families, community partners, funders, and other key stakeholders.
  • Utilize data and feedback to monitor program performance and implement continuous quality improvement strategies.
  • Prepare and submit timely, accurate reports as required by internal leadership and external funding or regulatory bodies.
  • Travel throughout the region to visit program sites, meet with employers and stakeholders, and attend relevant meetings or events.
  • Ensure CARF audit compliance
  • Oversee the Greenfield DDS office, programs, and staff in collaboration with the Program Supervisor
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, human rights, licensing, accreditation, and regulatory standards
  • Lead DDS service expansion in the Greenfield office
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new DDS areas to support growth in Employment and CBDS services
  • Strengthen partnerships with the community and lead quarterly meetings
  • Learn and manage DDS programming, including roster management, utilization, and participation in quarterly reviews
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process and manage the Greenfield fiscal year budget
  • Increase visibility as a Director of Viability by attending leadership meetings and contributing to organizational projects
