Job Description

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Total Rewards leads the design, implementation, and administration of AAFP's compensation, health and retirement benefits, wellness and work-life programs. This role is responsible for developing strategies that attract, retain, and engage employees while ensuring programs remain competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with business objectives. This role partners closely with senior leaders and external vendors to manage compensation structures, employee benefits, compliance requirements, and total rewards communications. The Total Rewards Director analyzes market trends and workforce data to recommend improvements that enhance the employee experience and support organizational success.

This role has responsibility for health, retirement, disability, paid-time-off, behavioral health, work-life, flexibility and other benefits, as well as our various wellness offerings and our compensation related programs and systems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 6-10 years of progressive experience leading the strategy, design and implementation for employer health and retirement benefits, compensation, and wellness programs with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong financial background and the ability to apply financial insights to compensation and benefits strategy.
  • 6-10 years of experience developing and delivering communications to engage employees and increase their understanding of the entire portfolio of benefits and wellness programs.
  • Previous experience leading the vision, strategy and execution of a modern and relevant employee wellness program focusing on physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.
  • Experience negotiating contracts, providing feedback, and ensuring agreements are executed appropriately.
  • Develops and conduct RFPs regularly and vendor management.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws, tax regulations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration or Finance
