Full Job Description
The Director, Supply Chain is responsible for leading the development and execution of supply chain strategies in partnership with the VP of Supply Chain to drive competitive advantage through cost, service, and operational performance. This role provides leadership to the commodity management organization and ensures alignment with plant materials management teams to support business objectives.

The position focuses on delivering material cost savings, improving supplier performance, optimizing working capital, and reducing lead times, while ensuring strong integration across sourcing, planning, and logistics functions. This role collaborates cross-functionally to ensure supply chain capabilities effectively support product performance, financial targets, and operational requirements.

Location preference for this role will be Whitsett, North Carolina; Kent, Ohio or near Reynosa, Mexico.

What you will do:
  • Plans, develops, and implements supply chain and sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives, including performance goals, metrics, and long-range planning initiatives
  • Partners with the VP of Supply Chain to define and refine strategy, while translating strategic direction into actionable execution plans across sourcing, planning, and logistics
  • Provides direct leadership of the commodity management organization, driving accountability for cost, supplier performance, and risk mitigation across all spend categories
  • Partners closely with plant materials management teams (planning, buying, scheduling) to ensure alignment between sourcing strategies, demand planning, and plant execution requirements
  • Leads and participates in the SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) process to align demand, supply, and capacity, ensuring effective planning and inventory strategies
  • Owns and leads logistics strategy and execution, including transportation, freight optimization, and coordination with logistics partners to ensure efficient and reliable material flow
  • Leads supplier management activities including negotiations, contracts, performance management, and relationship development to ensure cost competitiveness, quality, and service levels are achieved
  • Drives material cost reduction initiatives and ensures delivery of financial targets through structured cost savings programs and strong supplier strategies
  • Establishes and enforces supplier expectations related to quality, delivery performance, and lead-time reduction to improve overall supply chain responsiveness
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, and Plant Operations to align supply chain strategies with product requirements, financial objectives, and operational constraints
  • Develops and implements policies, processes, and best practices to ensure supply continuity, appropriate inventory levels, and efficient material flow across the organization
  • Conducts data analysis, benchmarking, and market assessments to identify opportunities for cost optimization, supplier rationalization, and lead-time improvement
  • Leads, develops, and evaluates team members, including hiring, performance management, and capability development to build a high-performing organization
  • Contributes to overall supply chain and business strategy through insights, recommendations, and continuous improvement initiatives


What we are looking for:
  • BS/BA in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field required
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, sourcing, or plant operations
  • Proven experience leading commodity management or supply chain organizations across multiple locations
  • Strong background in supplier negotiations, cost management, planning, and logistics operations
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive business results
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to define strategies and execute effectively to achieve financial and operational targets
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally (~20%)
