Full Job Description
As the Roundel Director Strategy & Enablement and Chief of Staff to the SVP of Roundel, you are responsible for driving enterprise-level strategic planning, operational rigor, and executive storytelling. You'll ensure alignment across long-range planning, annual operating cycles, and cross-functional execution, while elevating leadership effectiveness and team cohesion. The role combines strategic planning discipline, operational excellence, executive communication, and strong people leadership. This role is ideal for a strategic operator who thrives at the intersection of enterprise planning, executive storytelling, and people leadership, someone who can bring clarity, rigor, and cohesion to both business outcomes and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Strategy & Enterprise Planning: Lead strategic enterprise business planning processes, including Long-Range Planning (LRP), Annual Planning, Resource Planning, and Budget development. Own Roundel Priority OKR rollup and ensure alignment across functions. Translate enterprise objectives into actionable roadmaps, measurable outcomes, and resource strategies. Identify risks, trade-offs, and optimization opportunities to drive sustainable growth.

Establish & reinforce Operations & Operating Model: end-to-end processes that support scale and clarity across the Roundel organization. Design and continuously improve operating models, routines, governance frameworks, and prioritization mechanisms. Connect and influence cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution discipline. Drive accountability through structured business reviews, metrics tracking, and clear decision frameworks.

Communication & Planning: Articulate Roundel's positioning and value proposition for both internal and external audiences. Partner closely with Enterprise and Digital Communications to support key storytelling moments including Earnings communications, Press releases, Quarterly Business Reviews, Board of Directors materials, and Partner Summit content ensuing messaging is cohesive, strategically aligned, and reflective of enterprise priorities.

Lead Executive & Leadership Reviews: end-to-end preparation for executive-level meetings (SVP/LT bi-annual meetings, and other leadership forums), including agenda development, content coordination, Cohesive narrative development, proofing and executive-ready pre-reads. During meetings, drive time management, structured discussion, clear decision capture, and action follow-ups.

Cultivate Talent & Culture: Foster a cohesive leadership approach across the team, reinforcing consistent expectations and delivery standards. Lead and support key annual talent moments, including Talent Planning, Team Voice, Onboarding. Promote a culture of accountability, clarity, and high performance.

In-Person Leadership & Engagement: Coordinate intent and content for in-person engagements to maximize impact (e.g., Core Weeks, Super Week, leadership visits). Partner with Admin teams and Global Leader Travel to ensure strategic alignment of agendas and objectives. Ensure in-person moments to advance business priorities, strengthen relationships, and drive measurable outcomes. Facilitate content gathering and alignment for in-person key meetings & forums such as Leader Offsites, All-Team Meetings, Cross-functional leadership sessions Drive structured agendas and storytelling that connect enterprise strategy to team execution. Ensure meetings are outcome-oriented, actionable, and aligned to broader business objectives.

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. The pay range is $135,000.00 - $243,000.00

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications.
