Responsibilities

Full Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Leads, directs and manages operations for account to ensure that the operations staff executes service agreements at or above the client's standards
  • Assumes full profit and loss accountability for assigned account, including maintaining current book of business and expanding revenue opportunities
  • Maximize profitability through superior service, effective and prompt communications and follow-up on all pending matters
  • Approve all financial applications and reports and complete any ad hoc assignments designated by the Regional Vice President
  • Manage revenue and expenses to budget constraints
  • Manages the financial aspects of the account including invoice management, budget preparation and review, financial reporting and monitoring expenses
  • Reviews operating budgets for revenues and expenses and monitors compliance to contracts and provides strategic direction for account
  • Other duties as assigned


OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web based and job specific software applications
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate (verbally and intuitively) effectively with both clients and internal personnel
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition; handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and the organization


EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 7 - 10 years of experience in the logistics/freight forwarding industry
  • 5 or more years of supervisory or management experience, 6 - 8 years industry experience required
  • Strong marketing and sales strategy development experience


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Talking, hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
  • Walking within the warehouse and inspecting freight
