Full Job Description

ABOUT THE TEAM:

CorpTech Platform is the internal engineering force multiplier behind Anduril's corporate systems.
It drives CorpTech engineering forward through strategic investment in data platforms, software platforms, QA and release excellence, ERP engineering, and AI infrastructure.

We build the foundations that power both CorpOS, enabling Finance and Growth to operate with speed and precision, and ArsenalOS, the digital backbone of Anduril's hardware enterprise. By unifying systems, accelerating development velocity, and embedding intelligence into every layer, CorpTech Platform transforms how the company operates end to end.

We are also driving Anduril toward becoming an autonomous enterprise. Through initiatives like the Autonomous Software Factory, we are rethinking how software is built, tested, deployed, and evolved by integrating AI directly into the engineering lifecycle. CorpTech Platform is how Anduril scales its business systems with the same rigor, speed, and adaptability as its mission critical products.

ABOUT THE JOB:

The Director of Site Reliability Engineering owns the reliability system for the software that runs Anduril's business and manufacturing operations. This role leads the SRE organization and partners with software engineering leaders to make availability, resilience, performance, and production readiness shared engineering outcomes. The mandate extends beyond responding well when systems fail: it is to reduce the frequency and impact of failure through sound architecture, durable infrastructure, clear service ownership, and disciplined operating mechanisms.

You will set the portfolio-wide reliability strategy, build the team and leadership structure required to execute it, and give senior leaders a clear view of operational risk and investment choices. The strongest candidate will combine deep technical judgment with organizational leadership and will know when to establish a common standard, when to build a shared capability, and when to enable an engineering team to own the solution directly.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Build and lead the Site Reliability Engineering organization, including hiring, coaching, performance management, succession planning, and development of managers and senior technical leaders.
  • Own the reliability strategy for CorpTech Platform's production portfolio, translating operational risk and business criticality into a sequenced roadmap of engineering and infrastructure investments.
  • Establish shared accountability between SRE and software engineering through clear service ownership, SLOs, production-readiness standards, on-call expectations, and escalation mechanisms.
  • Set direction for observability, deployment safety, incident management, capacity planning, resilience, and disaster recovery across business-critical systems and shared infrastructure.
  • Partner with engineering, product, security, and business operations leaders to make informed trade-offs between delivery speed, reliability, cost, and long-term platform health.
  • Lead the organizational response to critical incidents, ensure communication and decision-making remain effective under pressure, and hold teams accountable for durable post-incident improvements.
  • Reduce recurring incidents and operational toil by turning cross-system failure patterns into platform capabilities, automation, architectural changes, and clearer ownership boundaries.
  • Define meaningful reliability measures and operating reviews that expose systemic risk, guide investment decisions, and demonstrate progress without incentivizing superficial compliance.
  • Create a healthy on-call system with the staffing, tooling, training, and management support required to sustain reliable services without normalizing burnout or heroics.
  • Establish reliability practices for AI-enabled systems, including appropriate observability, evaluation, degradation, and fallback mechanisms for non-deterministic production behavior.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 12+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, production engineering, infrastructure engineering, software engineering, or a closely related discipline, including significant experience leading engineering teams and managers.
  • Demonstrated success leading an SRE, infrastructure, or production engineering organization accountable for a diverse portfolio of business-critical systems at meaningful scale.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including hiring, coaching, performance management, organizational design, and development of managers and senior individual contributors.
  • Deep technical fluency across distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, networking, storage, observability, deployment systems, and the failure modes of each layer.
  • Experience establishing SLOs, production-readiness standards, incident management systems, on-call practices, and operational maturity mechanisms across multiple engineering teams.
  • Track record of improving reliability through systemic engineering investments and shared accountability with software engineering rather than relying on reactive support or manual controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess operational and business risk, prioritize investments across competing needs, and lead effectively through complex production incidents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior engineers, executive leadership, and cross-functional partners.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience leading reliability for enterprise, manufacturing, or other operationally critical systems with complex dependencies and varied service maturity.
  • Experience building or scaling an SRE organization in a hyper growth environment while improving both service health and engineering velocity.
  • Experience operating in a federated engineering model in which reliability standards and shared capabilities must influence teams outside the direct reporting line.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled production systems, including observability, evaluation, safeguards, and graceful degradation for non-deterministic behavior.
  • Experience with enterprise systems and business process domains such as ERP, MES, WMS, CRM, finance systems, or manufacturing systems.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
