Full Job Description
As Director, Site Controller - New York, you will lead financial operations for Micron's front-end wafer fabrication plant in Clay, New York. This position is responsible for financial planning, cost control, capital oversight, and maintaining financial controls at the site. You will also act as the main finance contact for the Site Vice President and Site Leadership Team (SLT). This greenfield site in New York is at the beginning stages of its construction. You will be responsible for hiring, training, managing, and leading the New York site operations finance team. You will work closely with other front-end site controllers and operational partners to put into place Micron's standardized finance systems, processes, and procedures. Responsibilities • Lead the site Finance organization, delivering financial planning, forecasting, scenario evaluation, product cost assessment, and performance reporting. • Serve as a key member of the site management group, providing objective financial insight and mentorship to aid decision-making that drives value creation. • Partner with site and corporate leadership to develop, evaluate, and optimize site operating and capital plans. • Apply rigorous analysis of return on investment, net present value, payback, and sensitivity to capital investments and major initiatives. • Drive cost-reduction and efficiency initiatives across site manufacturing and support functions to achieve competitive cost performance. • Provide financial oversight and control of site operations, ensuring compliance with Micron policies, internal controls, and external requirements. • Collaborate with Corporate and Global Front-End Finance teams to integrate financial processes, systems, and reporting. • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing site finance team through coaching, mentoring, and leadership development. • Develop and mentor a high-performing finance team, encouraging leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. • Generate and report entity-level financial statements and other financial data as required by government incentives. • Actively find opportunities for operational improvements, including the exploration and adoption of AI tools, automation, and new technologies to improve financial workflows. • Actively seek to bring to bear AI-assisted solutions to streamline repetitive tasks, improve data accuracy, and accelerate reporting cycles. • Stay current with AI and technology trends relevant to Finance and proactively propose use cases for the team. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's degree focusing on engineering, finance, economics or a related technical or quantitative area. • 15+ years of progressive experience in finance, manufacturing, operations, or capital-intensive environments. • 5+ years of leadership experience, including managing cross-functional or global teams. • For candidates with engineering or technical degrees: demonstrated, hands-on experience conducting financial evaluations, argument development, cost modeling, and capital investment assessment. • Strong expertise in financial analysis, product costing, return on investment analysis, and decision support for senior leadership. • Demonstrated ability to influence executives and operate efficiently in a complex, global, matrixed organization. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. • Experience with SAP, iECS, SAC-P, or other enterprise financial systems. • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, including Asia. Preferred Qualifications • MBA or advanced degree in finance, business, or management. • Semiconductor manufacturing experience; front-end wafer fab experience strongly preferred. • Experience supporting large-scale capital programs, factory startups, or greenfield site development. • Memory industry experience. • Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for operational improvements, especially using AI tools to improve efficiency and outcomes. The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is: $157,000.00 - $275,000.00 a year Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
