What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the executive leadership team, the Director, Risk Management is responsible for establishing and leading enterprise and project risk management programs across a portfolio of major infrastructure, construction, industrial, or capital projects. This role provides strategic oversight of risk identification, analysis, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting to ensure successful project and business outcomes.

The successful candidate will partner with project teams, commercial leaders, executives, and clients to proactively manage risks associated with safety, cost, schedule, quality, contracts, regulatory compliance, and operational performance. The Director will champion a risk-aware culture, implement industry best practices, and support informed decision-making across the organization.

What You'll Do Here:
  • Develop and lead enterprise-wide and project-specific risk management strategies and frameworks.
  • Establish governance, policies, processes, and reporting standards for risk management across the business.
  • Oversee identification, assessment, prioritization, and mitigation of strategic, operational, financial, commercial, and project risks.
  • Facilitate risk workshops, reviews, and executive risk reporting sessions.
  • Lead quantitative and qualitative risk analysis efforts, including contingency assessments and scenario modeling.
  • Monitor risk exposure throughout project lifecycles and recommend mitigation actions to maintain cost, schedule, safety, and quality objectives.
  • Collaborate with project controls, commercial, legal, procurement, engineering, and operations teams to integrate risk management into project delivery.
  • Support contract strategy development and management of commercial risks, claims, and dispute avoidance initiatives.
  • Analyze lessons learned, industry trends, and emerging risk factors to strengthen organizational capabilities.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development to risk professionals and project teams.
  • Present risk insights and recommendations to senior leadership, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and adoption of industry best practices in risk and opportunity management.


What You Bring to the Team:
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in risk management, project controls, construction management, project delivery, or related disciplines.
  • Proven leadership experience managing risk programs on large-scale infrastructure, industrial, energy, transportation, or capital projects.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle risk management principles, methodologies, and governance frameworks.
  • Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative risk analyses, including contingency development and forecasting.
  • Proficiency with risk management software and analytical tools, including Monte Carlo simulation methodologies.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience assessing contractual, legal, financial, and operational risks.
  • Experience supporting executive decision-making through risk reporting, dashboards, and strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive organizational alignment.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience leading teams and developing high-performing professionals.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and data visualization tools.
  • Professional certifications such as PMI-RMP, AACE DRMP, PMP, CRM, or equivalent are considered assets.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and business locations as required.
