Full Job Description
The Director, Retail Technology is responsible for the strategy, administration, support, and continuous improvement of retail technology platforms across all ZIPS locations, including point-of-sale systems and related store technologies. This role provides leadership for retail technology operations, vendor management, POS platform governance, and field technology support while partnering closely with Operations and Technology leadership to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions. The Director drives technology initiatives that enhance store performance, improve the customer and team member experience, and support the organization's long-term operational and growth objectives.

Retail Technology Strategy & Operations
  • Develop and execute the retail technology strategy in alignment with company goals and operational priorities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for retail technology operations across all locations
  • Establish performance standards, operational procedures, and support models for store technology
  • Monitor technology performance, operational trends, and service metrics to ensure reliability
  • Partner with Operations leadership to identify and prioritize technology improvements that support store performance
POS Platform Management & Governance
  • Provide strategic and operational ownership of point-of-sale platforms
  • Establish standards for POS configuration, administration, and change management
  • Oversee testing, deployment, and support of enhancements, upgrades, and new functionality
  • Ensure POS systems are optimized to support operational efficiency, customer experience, and business objectives
  • Maintain platform roadmaps and coordinate with vendors to evaluate future capabilities and enhancements
Vendor Management & Technology Partnerships
  • Serve as one of the relationship owners for POS providers and retail technology vendors
  • Manage vendor performance, service delivery expectations, and issue escalation processes
  • Support in technology evaluations, vendor selection activities, and contract-related discussions
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and vendors to resolve technology issues and implement enhancements
Retail Technology Projects, Integrations & Continuous Improvement Management
  • Lead retail technology initiatives including POS deployments, conversions, acquisitions, and platform modernization efforts
  • Partner with Information Systems, Application Development, Compliance & Payments, and Business Technology teams to support successful project delivery
  • Ensure retail technology platforms integrate effectively with enterprise applications, customer-facing solutions, and payment systems
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts through operational analysis, stakeholder feedback, and emerging technology evaluation
  • Support organizational readiness, communication, and adoption of new retail technology capabilities across the field


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of car wash experience; multi-unit experience a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of car wash operations, POS operations and project management
  • Experience presenting to groups
  • Able to travel some (up to 25%)
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Able to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Able to sit for long periods
